About

Polaris Budget is a local-first budget for iPhone, iPad and Mac, with two ways to run it: Envelopes or Tracking. Envelopes. Assign every dollar to a category before you spend it. Ready to Assign, the number at the top of Budget, is tied to cash in your accounts — not a balance parked in a future month. When it moves, Polaris can show named causes. Tracking. Set a target per category and watch spending against it. Nothing to assign or move. Same accounts, same categories, and you can switch any time. Partners. Two people can share one budget on one subscription — the partner seat is free. Each of you edits the same budget on your own devices, and changes sync through iCloud. For each account, you choose whether your partner sees it fully, sees the balance only, or doesn't see it at all. Either of you can keep a private group where the other sees only the totals. Your budget never leaves your devices and your iCloud. There is no Polaris account. We do not keep a copy of your books or bank tokens on our servers. Linking a bank is optional and uses third-party partners. Use it on iPhone, iPad and Mac. One subscription covers all three at no extra cost, for everyone in the household. Sample data is free. Subscribe to link banks or add your own accounts — $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, billed by Apple. Retirement paths, market comparisons, cash outlooks, and card-rewards figures are illustrative estimates — not financial, investment, or tax advice. Official statements from your bank or broker control if they disagree. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Envelope budget with Ready to Assign tied to real cash • Tracking with a soft target per category — nothing to assign • Cover overspending with a ranked plan, not a scavenger hunt • Link banks read-only (optional) — or explore with sample data • Share one budget with a partner — each of you can link your own banks and choose what the other sees • See net worth across cash, cards, loans, house, and holdings • Holdings-level portfolio with performance versus the S&P 500 and a 60/40 blend • Retirement paths (illustrative estimates, not advice or a prediction) • Optional joint long-term planning with your partner — off unless you turn it on • Card payment envelopes and rewards on cards you already own • On-device insights on a supported iPhone — the rest of the app works without them HOW IT WORKS Pay hits checking. You assign it to categories. Money never leaves the bank — only its job changes. Spend, and Available falls. Short one category? Cover from another. WHO IT’S FOR One person or two partners, one book, USD, English. Runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Syncs when you open the app. Support: https://polarisbudget.com/support Privacy: https://polarisbudget.com/privacy Terms: https://polarisbudget.com/terms
