User reviews

Very Useful and Easy to Use

I’ve tested a few scanner apps before, but this one feels the most reliable. It loads quickly, saves favorite stations, and works smoothly in the background. I also like that there are feeds from different countries and categories. Great app overall.

Response from developer

Thank you, Sinclair@567, for your excellent 5-star review! We're delighted to hear you find Police Scanner - Live Radio reliable, quick, and appreciate features like saving favorites, background operation, and diverse feeds. Your positive feedback is greatly valued and confirms our commitment to providing a high-quality experience. We hope you continue to enjoy using the app!

Coverage

Download while hearing sirens outside yet "no nearby feeds" showed. Obviously nation wide coverage not available. Wish I could get a refund. Developer should offer trial period so people can see if there's coverage "nearby"

Response from developer

Thank you, 504, for sharing your feedback. We understand your frustration when you experienced "no nearby feeds" despite hearing sirens, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Our "Police Scanner: Radio and Fire" app aggregates live audio feeds primarily provided by a network of dedicated volunteers. This means that feed availability is highly localized and can vary significantly based on geographic location and the real-time presence of active volunteer streams. While we strive for broad coverage, it is not universally available for every specific area or at all times, which may explain why you encountered the "no nearby feeds" message. We recognize the value of being able to verify local coverage, and we are continuously exploring options to enhance the user experience in this regard. For assistance with your purchase or to inquire about specific feed availability in your area, please reach out to our dedicated support team via the contact link provided on our app page or website. They will be glad to assist you further. We value your input as it helps us improve.

Love that picture in AppStore! But still junk.

Update late Nov 2025:
Even hilarious pic doesn’t excuse user tracking and absurd subscription model for packaging free public frequency content. Never meant to give 4 star rating, changed to 1, yet still claims two total ratings avg 4.5, one 4 & one 5. This despite 3 reviews, including mine; the other two give 1 & 5 star ratings.

Sept 24 2025 original:
Look how excited that girl is about what she’s hearing from the emergency services personnel! A fire? Alright!! Stabbing? OMG!!!

Response from developer

Thank you for your candid feedback and for updating your review. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as user input is invaluable for our continuous improvement. Regarding your concerns about user tracking, we want to assure you that user privacy and data security are paramount to us. Our app's data collection practices are designed solely to enhance app functionality, improve performance, and provide a better user experience, strictly adhering to App Store guidelines and privacy regulations. We are committed to transparency in our privacy policy, which is accessible within the app and on our App Store page. We also understand your perspective on the subscription model for accessing public frequency content. While the audio transmissions themselves are publicly accessible, our subscription service covers the substantial operational costs associated with maintaining a robust and reliable platform. These costs include continuous server infrastructure, bandwidth, licensing for features like advanced mapping and archiving, ongoing development of new functionalities, and dedicated customer support. This allows us to deliver a high-quality, ad-free experience with consistent access to a vast network of feeds, curated and organized for ease of use. Concerning the App Store's rating display, we recognize that the way averages and review counts are presented can sometimes be unclear. These calculations are managed entirely by Apple's proprietary algorithms and systems, which take into account various factors beyond individual review submissions. As developers, we do not have control over how these metrics are displayed on the App Store. We are dedicated to providing a valuable service, and your insights help us refine our approach. If you have specific questions or would like to discuss any of these points further, please do not hesitate to contact our support team directly through the 'Contact Us' section in the app or via our website. We are here to assist.
