About

Poltrax Tracker turns your phone into a GPS tracker for competitions and sporting events. Scan or enter the code provided by the organizer — Poltrax Tracker downloads the event configuration and starts showing your live position on the organizer's map. Signing up on site? Scan the sign-up form QR — you sign up in the app and the phone connects to the race by itself. How it works: 1. Scan the QR code (or enter the code) provided by the organizer. 2. Allow access to your location. 3. Put your phone away and go — your position is sent in the background, even with the screen locked. Why Poltrax Tracker: • Runs in the background — your phone can stay in a backpack or pocket (a persistent notification shows that tracking is on). • Automatic start — tracking switches on by itself at your start time. • The race map at hand — “See the race map” shows you and other athletes live. • Offline buffer — if you lose signal, positions are stored locally (encrypted) and sent once you are back online. • Battery saving — smart position sampling modes. At 20% battery tracking stops so you can still use your phone, and it comes back by itself once you plug in a charger. • No account needed — pair with a start code, no paperwork. Poltrax Tracker works with the Poltrax timing and visualization system used at runs, cycling events, rallies and regattas.

What's New in Poltrax Tracker

A new look, and race sign-up right in the app. • On-site sign-up: scan the sign-up form QR — the form opens in the app, and once you send it the phone connects to the race by itself. Add your photo from the camera or the gallery. • A QR with your code connects straight away, no typing. • Your name and starting number are shown at the top of the screen. • “See the race map” — see yourself and other athletes on the live map. • The “Positions sent” counter shows how many positions reached the server. • Location turned off on the phone? A card with a “Turn on location” button instead of a silent gap in your track. • Same code on a second phone: the app warns you before connecting, and the phone that stopped sending shows “Tracking moved to another phone”. • Battery: at 35% GPS switches to power-saving mode, at 20% tracking stops, and once you plug in a charger it comes back by itself at 30% — without opening the app. • More reliable background tracking on iPhone, also after a long stop and when the race starts with the phone in your pocket. • An “Allow motion detection” step before connecting — fewer gaps in the track. • Light, dark or system theme: Settings → “Theme”. • A “Diagnostics” screen for support: tap the version number in Settings 7 times.
