Aaa this app is so good

I’ve never tried 3d modelling before, and all the other apps I tried didnt open or crashed even before I tried using them ;-; so I’m really happy with this app, it doesn’t crash, is (partly) free and has a nice dreamy aesthetic, especially with the bloom feature :3

Bad

This is a bad app it just want to take your money for every thing

eh

i like how we don’t have to use any ipad applicances in order to model. i don’t like the fact we have to pay subscriptions for it in order to get the “full experience”, may you remove it?

App Crashes

Nothing of the advanced stuff is free, but the app just bricks when I try to subscribe! Just sits there until I get board 10 minutes later. “Requesting Subscription” just sits on the screen.

Hard to play .

It is very hard to create stuff and I like you to fix that.

SO GOOD

PLEASE make the pro version available in canada

Subscriptions bugged, full app unusable

Subscriptions don’t work reliably. Attempting to subscribe results in the app hanging indefinitely (Yes, we’ve tried “restore subscription”).

The support forums are dead, too, and spam is starting to leak in (“Buy the best microwave in India!”).

Shame, this was a neat proof of concept.

Abandoned by devs!

Buggy, crash-prone, confusing interface. No release in over a year. Devs admit on their site that the project is abandoned because they didn’t make enough money on subscriptions. Avoid!

Very good app, crashes while launching.

This is a very good app I have learned most of how to make something, I’m making a house right now, I haven’t payed, you cam do simple things without paying, which is nice, the bad thing is that sometimes whenever I launch the app, it crashes frequently, if that was fixed (and maybe a couple more free features) it would be a much better app.

Great app!

The only problem is the monthly/yearly payment, you could just have a one time payment option that unlocks all features and have the monthly payment for a cloud storage server to sync across devices. And at least make subdivide a free feature.

This App Is A Definition Of Amazing đŸ’«

This app is excellent! You don’t even need pc to model 3D anymore! This is the perfect app. My only suggestion would be to make a select multiple things button where you can click all all the things you want to move, rotate etc.. Overall I love this app! 5 / 5

Wow

wow this is the best 3D modelling app and animation app I’ve ever seen

An Abandoned Application.

I previously left a review for this product with my main complaint being the business model, which drove away it’s customers (you need a subscription to use this software to any extent).

I am now awarding this application one star. Perhaps if the staff, team, creator or whoever is in charge had supported the program and it’s userbase, then it would have arguably been worth the price in the long run - Through updates, support and whatnot. Evidently, it wasn’t supported for long, and it’s most definitely not worth subscribing for, at any price.

Take a look for yourself at the last update (10 months ago) that was purely for a bug with the subscription purchase - they’re only concerned for cash.

Have a peek at their forums of customers, they’re all asking about the roadmap of updates and the future of Polydust... But nobody has got back to them in months. The entire forum and site is entirely abandoned by the staff.

Maybe this review will alarm their inbox? Maybe they’re on an unusually long vacation for all the extraordinary updates they’ve been working on behind the scenes? Maybe this app just isn’t what it was made out to be.

Basic features producing basic results. No plans for the future. Subscription based. Again, it’s abandoned since mid / early 2019 (one year ago).

You’ll never be able to rely on this app if you’re serious about 3D modelling.

I’m most concerned about the other reviews that are anything above a 2 star. Don’t be fooled.

Needs something

we should be able to duplicate in the free version, it’s something simple and hard to do much without it, there’s already more options under pay

Especially import models we made within the same app to make different versions of the model

A one time payment would be nice also

4 stars, potential 5...

... with some improvements. Hopefully this app is still in development, a couple of tweaks could really make this ace. Simple enough for iPad usage with enough poly editing features and clean interface to make it worth using and paying the small sub for.

Would be great to see obj export, weird that it is missing.

Plenty of empty UI space around the workspace, would be amazing to add shortcuts of your choosing to these spaces such as extrude and duplicate, verts edges faces selection etc.

I’m sure these two things would improve the app a lot with minimal extra development.

Camera function fails

The first few times I tried using the finger gestures to control the camera angle it worked great. But stopped working and glitches like crazy. Deleted app and reinstall. Works now.

Not the best for iPad Pro

Apple pen is not supported, or at least it doesn’t work with any of the UI. I would be nice to have a persistent ‘bubble’ like menu for common movements, extrude, Polly, vertex , etc. I could not get a flow going with my 11 inch iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.

just...what happened?

It seems like development for this app has halted and it's unfortunate since it seemed like it was the most useable and simplest out of most of the mesh-centric 3d modelling apps. I really loved using it at first, but soon ran into some problems. There are quite a few bugs that I have come across and I'm really hoping these get fixed at some point.

First of all, using orthographic view is nearly impossible because the vertices are offset from the model and are difficult to select. Also the selecting feature doesn't work right for both ortho and perspective - it's almost impossible to correctly select the vertices on a given face without accidentally selecting vertices on the opposite side of the model. It doesn't seem like the option to toggle this mode works either, regardless there's always a problem selecting verts/faces/edges and it is very difficult to work around, slowing down the workflow considerably.

Second of all, importing and exporting can be a headache. If I export something in mirror mode, I wind up having to delete many extra verts and making all of the UVs face the right direction is a nightmare when I bring it into blender.

Getting my projects out of the app to my computer is tricky. First, you export it as an FBX. You have to use software to convert the ASCII fbx file to a binary FBX file, and then import the binary FBX file into blender (or whatever software you're using) and clean up all of the problematic geometry as a result of the various bugs, especially with symmetry mode, that comes with it. Having the option to export as OBJ or DAE would make this app wayy more useful, let alone even just exporting as FBX binary instead of ASCII...I don't know many softwares that even use ASCII fbx format?? It was a weird choice.

After fixing these bugs this app would be really great! It has a lot of potential. Seeing the option to edit UVs and apply textures via copy and paste or importing from the camera roll (i.e. like painting textures in another app like procreate and applying them without having to export to my PC before texture painting would be really nice). Texture painting would be hard to get working, but having the option to apply textures or edit UV maps would be a big step in that direction.

I just hope to see an update sometime soon...I'm still using this app out of necessity for the time being despite the glitchiness.

Response from developer

Hey Zschollful, Thank you for your review! The restore purchase bug should be solved in the next build and in a few weeks we want to improve import and export. Also UV seems to be a big thing to our users so possibly it will get developed as one of the first things too! Best, Piotr

Currently unsupported by devs and all features are blocked by paywall

Looks decent based off the videos and the example scenes they have but if you want to try and model anything more than a box you have to pay. Wanted this app mainly so in could do low poly block outs or import sculpts from forger but there’s no way to test out the app without giving card info not to mention FBX imports don’t work at all. Also why is FBX the only supported file type. Guess all this doesn’t matter considering developers seemed to call it a quits with their forms completely dead and no support.

Needs OBJ export

Would be great if it had obj export so You can bring your models into Forger to sculpt additional details.
