What's New in Polyglot
1.2
October 25, 2026
Polyglot 1.2 is our biggest update yet. - Now in 16 languages: the app is also available in Arabic, Dutch, Hindi, Indonesian, Russian, Turkish and Traditional Chinese. - Add Word: save a new word from Home in seconds. Its meaning fills itself in on your device, duplicates are flagged, and Add and next keeps you going. - Quick Translate: remembers your language pair, swaps in one tap, keeps your recent translations and saves any result as a flashcard. - Choose your on-device AI: Apple Intelligence or a downloadable model, with automatic fallback if one is unavailable. - A more reliable AI tutor: Stop and Try again in chat, conversations kept for each language, a level picker for quizzes and lessons, and quizzes in your own language. - Siri and Shortcuts: add a word, translate or open a deck by voice. A new control starts a review from Control Center or the Lock Screen. - Widgets: a StandBy look for the word widget, a new extra large widget with quick reviews, and widgets now work from iOS 18. - Made for iPhone Duo: flashcards open like a textbook, tabletop mode gives hands-free speaking drills, every screen stays clear of the fold, and a quick review on the cover screen keeps your streak alive. - Carry over a streak from another app in Settings. - After a quick review, Keep going offers a few more cards. With a hardware keyboard, Space shows the answer and 1 to 4 grade the card. - Fairer pronunciation scores: silence no longer counts as zero, and a retry keeps your best attempt. - Plus many fixes: streaks that count however you leave a review, better Anki imports, a faster Home screen with large libraries, larger text and VoiceOver improvements.
