Great design, simple to use, unique features

This is a very well designed synth. The interface is laid out quite well which makes it easy to understand and reverse engineer for those presets you want to know more about. I also like the waveform sequencer which is something I haven’t seen elsewhere (perhaps it exists but I haven’t seen it). And each waveform is editable in ways that can make some really cool and interesting sounds, just what I was looking for. I should also add that I found a small bug, notified the developer and in less than a week the fix was pushed. So great response time. Really work checking out.

Not Working in GarageBand

I’ve been using PolyWave to make music for about a year now. I’ve used it a lot, and definitely found it useful. But, for the past few months, every time I try to open PolyWave in GarageBand, or open a song that used PolyWave, nothing that’s been recorded with PolyWave will play. It will even say “PolyWave is not installed in your device”. I didn’t buy the full package before, so I took upon myself to buy it $11.99 thinking it would fix the problem. Nope. I would really give this app a 5 star rating, but it doesn’t even work, and now I spent $11.99 on a broken tool. If it gets fixed, I will most definitely change my review. Don’t waste your time or money on this right now.

Sorry for this issue with Polywave and GarageBand. We have made some test but all works fine for us. Could you contact us at contact@fingerlab.net so we can help you to solve this issue ? Thanks

Simple interface, complex results

Most of the wavetable synths available to iPad users are very complex and take lots of dedicated time to learn and can take a long time to yield the results you were looking for.

PolySynth takes a different approach.

This is not to say users are stuck with another virtual analog synthesizer, far from it. The user can create their own wavetables by drawing themselves. There are several functions that can be connected. Most controls can be modulated through one of the two LFOs which can create interesting movement and timbral changes. The interface looks basic but is clever and many programming features can be accessed such as automation which has many functions that can be controlled. It is simple but effective and fun to work in.

I like complexity in sound and PolySynth delivers.

Sorry for this issue, please install the last update v2.0.4 as it will fix this issue.

Digital distortions

I try not to do reviews when there’s usage issues but I can’t find a working web page. On an iPad Air 2024 (256 gig storage, M2 chip.) PolyWave distorts as if the iPad is struggling to process the app.
It is a very interesting app and I hope it’s user error or my ignorance of the app. When resolved I will change the review to its deserved five star rating.

Static when I play 3 or more notes

This is a great digital synth but there is an annoying static noise when I press multiple keys, which hurts my ears when I wear headphones and the static continues even when it is recorded. Apart from that, it is a very good.

Is ok aber

Hab ein 13 zoll Mac und das plugin ist so groß wie der Bildschirmschirm bei meinem 27 zoll Monitor ist es das selbe

Love this but a question

What type of files can u import for your waves? Only ones made in PolyWave?

worth it!

Like any good music app, has presets that sound fantastic to get you off and running plus a lot of deeper features that you can exploit with a slightly involved learning curve. Get it! You won’t hate yourself for spending a few bucks on this one.

Modular modulations

I’m having a blast with this! It’s awesome interface prompts exploration which is very rare these days on the iOS platform.very refreshing! Excellent entry from sir Jordan ! 👽✌️😄

Read it if you want to know

First of all, I love Jordan Rudess, and just cant stand DT. BUT I TRULY LOVE HIM. The only thing that effin pushed me to write down this review is that that effin integrity that has long been since my effin childhood. , and I hate myself for that. Could’ve a simple living guy.

Anyway. The only reason I’m writing this , is only because, this app has the sincerity, emotional attachment, and true nirvana attached to it. If you get it, it’s good, if not I’m sorry.

This app will change the course.

Not wrote that , don’t shave any connections with the devs. Just brute force away into the chaos that is the future brothers! Here we’ll die. Making music erm.

Things have never been so swell,
I have never failed to fail!

Sayonara.

Welcome in my collection.

Simple to use with surprising results.
Clean UI, easy to learn and make a wide range of sounds. Has a nice filter and interesting LFO design is a big part of the fun.
I give Four Stars to encourage the developer to add a few improvements. These would include: 1. Import of any user preset folder, to import all presets at once! (Same for MYNTH your other synth).
2. Improved FX.
3. MacOS version is eating CPU.

Is there more

When you wrote "stay tuned" I literally blew my load. Do let us know what else is upcoming. Can't wait.

Not that different from Mynth and Flynth

Hmmmm…. I feel like PolyWave, Mynth and Flynth should be a one app. I don’t understand why three separate apps are needed. Very similar in their basic concept, interface and most importantly in what kind of sounds can be generated with them. They feel like different variations of the same app.

Having said that, it’s great. I just wish to be able to use them all within one app.

Nice one!

…it could be way more with a complex synth engine, the approach is awesome!

One thing insanely ANNOYING (!) is this POP UP asking us if we wanna save the modified preset! Please for all sakes give us an option to turn it off…PLEASE.

So good!!!

This app is amazing. So powerful, I wish this was a physical device

Not getting any sound from the synth in GarageBand

Works fine on iOS, but on macOS there is no sound whatsoever. Please look into this. Thanks.

Fingerlab

The new random button is pure genius. Fingerlab you can finger my lab anytime. You hit a home run with this app. Keep up the good work.

Very sad-angry logo, but

This synth sound good, is playful and fun, but the logo looks very sad/angry. Lets see, if it can make happy sounds.

Guter Ansatz

Get it

Pro app. Pro tip. Get it. Should be supported for a long time given the developer's history. It's great for morphing pads if you're into that sort of thing like me. Works well and has simple controls. Effects sound good. Easy midi map. Beauty. I mean for the price you just can't beat it. p.s. The sounds you can get from drawing a waveform is somewhat dependent on understanding how that works and it works fine, as good as any other. You can "detach" the envelope from the filter by drawing the envelope properly, i.e. sustain all the way up, no attack, no release. An init patch by hitting new does this automatically. The detune knob work fine as well. It is for detune of the different waves, not like the detune between voices on an analog synth.
