I was sitting there about to eat breakfast and discovered a popcorn husk in my throat, which got me thinking about popcorn and how many bags we have burnt over the years and how I have learned to rely on counting seconds between pops. Then, in the clarity of mind that comes at 4:00am when your brain is fuzzy, I realized that the world needs an app that would listen to your popcorn popping and let you know when the proper time has come.

Perfect Popcorn Timer
I tested this app as soon as I downloaded it.
Loaded my popcorn into microwave for 2:30 I got the microphone button to start the app listening for the popping and started the microwave.
With only 52 seconds left on the microwave, the alarm from the app began to notify.
Results: No burnt popcorn! This app saved my entire bag from being ruined. Thank you!
My only critique for this app is that the alarm volume is very low. Sounded as though the noise was coming from the phone headset and not the speaker. Otherwise I would give this 5stars.
I think a visual full screen notification would compliment the alarm very well as a double confirmation to remove the popcorn from the microwave.
EDIT:
I tried the app again and the volume of the alarm was much louder and better than the first time. I think it may have been low the first time due to ringer or volume being low on device and trying to increase volume within the app. I exited the app, raised ringer volume and sound volume then tried the app and it was super loud. 5 stars.

I still use this. I just watch the app while the phone is on the table next to the microwave. Big pop up alert when it is time to remove the popcorn.
