Love it ! Update – I’m still using it and it’s still fun!
I think this is fun. I feel if they made it harder it would not be as fun as it is. Even if you can guess at a few, you are looking at it & learning it. It should be fun to learn & not make it so difficult & discouraging. Learning needs to remain being fun! BTW, I am a 79 yo person & this fun game has been a terrific fun review of math for me! It has been years since I even thought of the multiplication tables! Thank you!

A Brilliant App
As a maths tutor in the UK who has taught over 11,000 private lessons, I can say in all honesty that this is BY FAR the most popular maths app I have ever used. I have recommended it to all pupils and parents and most have downloaded it. It’s brilliance is in its simplicity and visual appeal, coupled with the most satisfying popping sound - which, on my iPhone XS at least, can be turned up and down using the phone’s ringer volume. The latest update provides some new graphics and improved music, but keeps what has always been great about this app - finding answers and popping balloons as you work through the levels of increasingly harder mental calculations. It’s helped countless pupils of mine - of all ages - improve their basic numeracy skills, and it’s always a fun element to any lesson. It’s hard to imagine anyone downloading this app would be anything other than delighted with it. So many other apps come with so much clutter and distraction. Pop Math is a joy because it’s good fun and so simple to use. Worth every penny!

Great for automaticity
Great to get kids practicing simple number facts quickly. I use this at school for students and give them a time limit to get before moving to next level. However after level 10 the sums get a little complex that are harder to do in your head, so tend to only use first 5 levels.
Student Review by Alicia C.
I love this app because it’s helping me with my math. It’s fantastic and I love it. I like it because it tells you your level and it gives you points for everything you get right.

What happened to the wonderful "POP" sound when the correct answer was chosen? This encouraged the kids to get the right answer and, I assume, have the app its name. The "mistake" sound has gone too. Or is there a setting I'm missing?
Fun, More Features Please!
What We Liked:
My daughter (8) smiles more when she’s playing PopMath than she does with most math games on the iPod. From the moment she opened it and popped her first bubbles, to every time she cleared a level and received a message of encouragement, “You rock”, she’s been all smiles. Those little written encouragement messages really challenge her to do better with each level as she aims for the ‘higher’ encouragement messages.
As a mom I love the flexibility this app offers as a teaching tool. Your child can either play through the app from start to finish as the app increases the value of the numbers and the number of operators, or you can select a single operator, a mixed operator, a specific number table, it’s wonderful. You can even make adjustments between levels.
This really helps your children to build to mastery with a specific table and operator, particularly valuable if you use a mastery-based math program like our family does. Your child can try as many times as he needs to get the right bubbles paired and no timer is visible during the level (number wrong and time is displayed after the level). The low-stress, encouraging environment and bubble-popping gameplay make this app surprisingly fun for kids.
Children may use the process of elimination, completing the bubbles they KNOW first in order to narrow down the options for the tougher questions, but I still feel that having to select the matching question and answer still helps to solidify math facts through the repetition of connecting the two parts.
What We Didn’t Like:
Even though there is a lot to love about this app, it has limited features. There is no record of the scores, so if you want to see how your child is doing you’ll have to sit with them and watch the end of each level. I’d also like to see a way to go back to the beginning of the app without exiting it, and to have multiple user options.
Overall:
PopMath Maths Plus is a really fun and flexible way to build confidence in basic mathematical skills that allows for precise targeting of fact sets and operators. Simply designed, surprisingly fun; I’m very pleased with the performance of this math app.
I received a promo code.

Review
Stunning way to get them thinking.
Great for 8yo autistic child
I have tried many of the math apps for simple maths. We have been working on our child's math skills for years of course, but still the fundamentals were quickly forgotten.
This great little fun app meets many key areas. It looks like fun, the balloons make a farting sound if they are wrong, it starts easy and doesn't get hard too fast although it does jump a bit.
I would like to suggest some improvements we have found when teaching small kids.
We initially start with sums that add up to 10, eg peaking at 10+0. So a progression could be adds to 5, adds to 6, adds to 7 etc. That would be a very nice gradual improvement. Level 10 would add to 14, level 20 adds up to 24 etc.
We would also obsoletely love a new balloon to float up if you get one wrong. Turn this mode on and off somehow. The kids quickly press all combination of balloons just to get to the next level, so they're at level 10 instead of level 1.
All in all 4 stars. Please consider these requests. Happy to pay again or more for apps that really help kids with these learning styles.

Little or No Educational Value
Fundamentally flawed as educational software because players can just have the fun of popping the ballons by guessing as faster or faster than doing the math. In short, no reward for actually doing the math versus guessing. Also, after the initial enthusiasm (about two plays) my daughter found it boring.

Too easy to guess correct answer
Educational value would be significantly improved if this app had more problems per level and required correct answers to all problems before advancing to the next level. Used this app with 2nd and 3rd graders and observed that some were rapidly advancing through levels by guessing at answers. Each level begins with four problems. It's very easy to randomly select from the four possible answers until the bubbles "pop" leaving one less problem and answer. Correct answer to fourth problem is assured since there is only one choice remaining.

I am amazed
I am amazed at this mathematical application! My mother got this for my brother and I and we just love it! It has truely improved our mathematical skills! I am in the fourth grade and my brother is in the seccond. We enjoyed this great application so much, we bought it for our familys iPad! But my brother and I are quite confused on how the levels never seem to cease. You see, I am on level 452 so far and the levels never stop. I hope you can fix this.

pop math
Absolutely brilliant. Fun, colourful and lots of levels for all ages. A wonderful game! LJ.
Best maths app for 5 yr olds
In fact this is he best educational app I have come across so far for the tricky 5 yr old range.
BRILLIANT AND EDUCATIONAL
Excellent app for kids. Have a 5 year old and a 10 year old both addicted to doing maths sums. Well worth the 99c
Fun math game for kids & adults too!
This is fun and a great math game for all ages! I enjoy the simplicity. I picked it up quickly and found it easy to play. I have a lot of fun trying to beat the seconds and get my mind sharp. I'm an adult and enjoy it - kids will love this! It keeps you engaged. Its worth getting!
Excellent value for money
Great app, my 5 and 6 year olds are enjoying it daily - popping matching balloons by calculating the correct sum. Choice of - + x / or all and choice of numberset from 2 upwards make this a brilliant maths game.
The kids find it satisfying and easy enough without getting bored too quickly. Very good for practising or boosting times tables knowledge.
A bargain for £0.59 - especially compared to some of the apps out there.
the "reward" sound for successfully popping balloons could be a bit more, hmmm, satisfying, but other than that
