Not as good as the old version
The temperature is often way off the actual temperature, the map doesn't work well and sometimes it doesn't load at all.
Removed video forecast?!
This app no longer plays the video forecast which is the only thing it was good for.

Not working on iPad
The app stopped loading on my iPad about a month ago. I just deleted it, then reinstalled it. Still just sits there, purple title screen. All updates have been done, and my iPad isn’t even a year old.

I like the app’s layout and map a ton.
Videos play even after exiting app.
Starting around Monday, October 25, 2021 the app has changed slightly. Now asks users to be tracked for targeted advertising and the video feature now continues to play even after exiting the app. When I try returning to the app to turn off the video, I’m unable to find the video and turn it off. So I end up deleting the app and reinstalling it. What was once a 5 star app is now a 1 star nightmare.

Logo in middle of screen
Logo in middle of screen blocks out daily and hourly info! Have to scroll to see....cannot get all info at a glance! Deleted app within 10 minutes of downloading🤷🏻♀️
Good app one major flaw
Good app, easy to use, good interface, etc. It has one very annoying feature. The KDW logo remains floating over much of the text making it difficult to read on the iPad. I can’t see a way to get rid of it.

The info is good, but I cannot make the logo disappear from the middle of the screen!!! Everything scrolls behind the logo so it is very hard to feel relaxed while trying to read what’s on the screen.

Feels like this app hasn’t been updated in years. Consistently have issues watching videos of forecasts.
TV Versus app
Why can I be watching the TV and the app and the weather report on the TV are completely different this seems rather absurd?!

Always count on the guys on 8 for the forecast....and having a Clark Co neighbor making sure we’re included in the conversation is great!
Problematic update
Ever since the most recent “update” the large white “Portland weather KGW8” logo now remains OVER the data I’m trying to read., rendering the app near useless. Extremely annoying.

Wud prefer solid background

BUT
I gave it 3 Stars because it’s very difficult to read. As lovely as it is, the background photo of kayak on the dock makes it too hard to read print for hourly and daily forecasts. Perhaps I’m missing how to change it in settings but if that’s the case maybe where & how to change it needs to be easier to find. If there isnt a way to change it plz consider adding that option
