About

The Portrait AR app is only one part of a larger art project started back in 2022 by the Danish artist and composer, Line Tjørnhøj, called "PORTRAIT". This art project experimented in the field between sensory experience and groundbreaking new technology such as AR and volumetric video. The app was originally used as a part of an art installation and dining performance in which guests were invited to dine with a virtual version of the well known Danish spokesperson, Birgitte Qvist-Sørensen, from the DanChurchAid. Since then we have expanded the concept by adding three new digital portraits of three other well known Danish female leaders. The Portrait AR app holds a menu from where you can choose between four different digital portraits to watch in Augmented Reality. All portraits are volumetric video experiences, holding recordings of Birgitte Qvist-Sørensen where she is dinning, Christina Åstrand playing her violin, Henriette Laursen reading a book and the artist Lines own portrait with body paint. You can also learn more about the overall art project "Portrait", read about the creative visions behind the project. When you are entering the AR experience, follow the guide on the screen to search for a surface with the camera and tap to place the virtual AR experience-scene. The artist Line is a music composer and therefore audio plays a big part in the app, where each digital Portrait also contains an audio experience.
