My Hometown Paper

Living in Florida, I love being able to keep in touch with news of home

It just like reading the paper

Much better than getting the paper delivered.

Seamless app

Open it and read the paper! hats what I like, it keeps me logged in and i just click and read and I’m able to adjust things for the way i want to see and read articles. Great app!

Great local news

Love getting the Herald on line!!

App works well

But the content is a solid mediocre. Typical left wing news spin. But there is not much choice for local news. Why can’t they just report news? Not anymore. Now everything is an editorial made to fit a narrative.

Searches & blur

I enjoy keeping up with seacoast regional news, but I can’t do searches for recent articles and comics are often blurry.

Sports

You go overboard with it

It just like reading the paper

Much better than Seacoastonline.

Great online newspaper

Best experience with an online subscription this side of the New York Times

I should have gone digital a long time ago

I have been a loyal print subscriber for decades but when subscription rate just kept going up, and had become ridiculously expensive compared to my digital NYT and WaPo subscription, I had to cancel immediately. My spouse then tried the digital edition offer and we are thrilled. We don’t have to search for the paper in the morning that the constantly changing delivery person haphazardly throws at the driveway instead of placing at the front door. Despite plastic wrap, if it rains or snows, the paper gets soaked! If you ever go away for the weekend, the newspapers littering the driveway are dead giveaway. Lastly, we don’t have to compile the papers anymore for recycling. The only thing I miss are the occasional store flyers that come with the papers. The best thing is the e-edition which is the exact layout/ format of the paper. Gone are the light barely readable ink and blurry photos. Now, I.can easily enlarge the text if needed. The e-edition is superior to the online version of the Herald because you avoid the tons of annoying ads. I know exactly where to find my favorite sections because it’s the same paper only digitized. Had I known sooner, I wouldn’t have resisted for so long in switching.

Love local news

The Portsmouth Herald does a great job of covering the news and events on the Seacoast. It makes you feel like you are part of the community!

Other than hearing the crinkle of a turned page, it’s great

Love this app, easy to use and reach the articles regardless of where I am!

Thank You Herald

I so much enjoy reading your newspaper on line. It helps me to keep up with all the latest news concerning items of interest to me such as city council meetings, local sports, and human interest stories.

Enjoy the Ease of Use

And the ability to look at past editions of the paper. It also presents the info like the paper version as opposed to having to decipher the website (I like my routine). I only gave 4 stars because sometimes content doesn’t appear on a page so I have to refresh the app (but not as frequently as it used).
