Now that I upgraded to iOS 18, it crashes immediately. I used this every day for years, I miss it.

iOS 18 update
I love this program and use it all the time. But it no longer works since updating iOS to 18. Is there a work around or update coming?
Great but does not open anymore
I have used this wonderful app for years but since the update I cannot open it on my iphone 15 anymore. I tried restarting the phone, deleted and reinstalling the app but nothing works :-(
Find the ads workaround and
Find a workaround for the annoying ads, and this app is excellent. The workaround is to only use it if you're on wi-fi not on a cellular/mobile signal.

Esse dicionário é uma ferramenta excelente para consultas rápidas e traz uma quantidade imensa de expressões e phrasal verbs.
Nice app but the pop up redirects are terrible
I used to depend on this dictionary a lot but a few years ago the Developers changed the ad setup and now when looking things up it seems like every other tap is followed by an ad pop up in safari and it really interrupts the use of the app, very inconvenient. I get the app needs to monetize use but this way is just off-putting and I’d rather use Linguee

Ad-destroyed experience, but....
Would have given this an unquivocal five starts were it not for the ads. But there's workaround the problem: always launch app first before enabling wifi. Also, permanently disable cellular data access for the app. As along as the app doesn’t refresh (suddenly blinks back to its main screen), there won’t be any annoying ads! if it refreshes, simply turn off wifi, relaunch the app, then turn wifi back on.

Crashing
I love this app, used since forever and it’s a daily tool, living in Australia, but lately the app is crashing every time I open it... please fix it! I don’t want to open google for quick translations

The best English-Portuguese dictionary that I have ever seen.
What happened?
This used to be the BEST thing on the market, but over the last few months has become really glitchy and annoying. I’m sad because I’ve really relied on it over the years. I upgraded to avoid ads a long time ago.

This is the best Portuguese-English dictionary I have found. It has all the words I am looking for. Much better than any other dictionary I have tried. And I have tried several, including physical ones.

The ads are making it impossible to use the app.

No, there isn’t any way in the app to pay to disable the ads (nor would it likely work anymore, even if there was). Sadly, this app is currently very broken, and unlikely to be fixed.
open app -> search on a word -> an ad instantly opens *in Safari* -> switch back to the app to try to read the search result -> instantly upon switching back to the app, before it is possible to read anything, the app immediately opens another ad *in Safari*...
The only way to sort of view the search results that were produced, is indirectly, from the iOS app switching mode, before actually trying to switch back into the app from Safari.
There is no way to actually get to the search results to tap on them or otherwise further interact with the app, without simply closing the app out entirely from the iOS app switcher.
Note that this dysfunctional behavior was not what the developer originally intended: it is a result of (now long-standing) ad server changes by the ad serving network the app uses.
This formerly very useful app has not been updated in many, many years, so unfortunately it appears unlikely to ever be fixed.
Don’t waste your time.

I will give this app a 4 and re-evaluate later. So far I haven’t been bothered by adds and I like the vast word database.
