This review is misleading. The app provides a free demo mode that allows users to evaluate its functionality before making any purchase. The 256-byte limitation is clearly stated and is only meant to demonstrate the app’s capabilities. The app does not “nag” users for money — upgrading is entirely optional.

You have to pay a subscription to edit a whole file

Full file editing is part of the paid version, which helps support ongoing development. Unlike many alternatives, the app focuses on providing a powerful and user-friendly hex editing experience, including advanced navigation, large file handling, and precise data control.
Templates?
I don't see any reference to subscriptions or fees in the App-Store either.
I'd suggest implementing a trial period, e.g. a few hrs and max. e.g. 5 separate files.
As I frequently use large files over time _not_ needing to lug Laptops around with me all the time would really be nice.
I fervently disagree with the subscription model. Call me old-school (which I am).
Therefore, a lifetime or version limited license would really make me happy. E.g. this and the next version perpetually for a fixed amount.
If it's really that good, you'll certainly find enough willing to shell (reasonable) money...

Это откровенная ложь. hexed.it едва ли может являться разумной альтернативой, так как представляет из себя просто игрушку с большими проблемами в удобстве использования по всем аспектам - просмотра, редактирования и сохранения изменений. Более того, эта поделка практически неадаптированна для работы на IPad/IPhone. В ней отсутствуют многие возможности, имеющиеся в PotoHEX, такие как кодирование/декодирование, шифрование/дешиврование, компрессия/декомпрессия, преобразования кодировок, работа с qr кодами и многое другое. hexed.it как и любое веб-приложение имеет принципиальные ограничения, связанные с ограниченностью функциональности работы в песочнице веб-браузера, что никогда не позволит ему сравняться по функциональности с нативным приложением таким как PotoHEX.

If "literally any web Hex Editor is better" on your iPhone/iPad, use it instead of this App! And who are the people who can afford to buy Apple's products but can't pay for App? Are you kidding? Either way, there was a lot of time and effort put into creating this app and there is no reason to devalue that by offering this App for free.

All Apps in TrollStore are, in fact, free software. So if someone wants an App "for free" she or he should sponsor its development. I think 2 BTC is enough and I'll release my app "for free" for all significant iOS versions. See details in the GitHub repo of the App.

The demo mode is enough to test all functionality. But if you want to try volumes 1 euro is not much. It's less than a tram child ticket. But if it's so expensive, this App is not for you.

Starting with the 1.12 version there is an embedded HTTP Server. So you can access your files through Web Browser now from any computer in your local network.
Good enough
- A lot of settings (endianness, row size, radix) could probably be moved to a separate config menu.
- Tab duplicate/unpin/trash would be better as a tooltip, not a drag-and-drop.
- “Insert mode” keyboard isn’t scaled properly.
It’s pretty ridiculous that I have to pay a monthly subscription to use a simple hex editor. There are thousands of free desktop apps and websites which do the exact same thing. I don’t blame you, though.
With the whole $99/year indie dev fee, it’s only natural that the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
