Greedy

I’ve had the earlier version of this on my iPad for years. I’ve written dozens of templates for custom applications I used in the office. I was aware that they were no longer supporting it, but when I had to restore my iPad, it couldn’t download the app because they took it off the server. That’s the Apple server, the App Store.
And all this because they weren’t charging for the first one and discovered that they could charge for the second one. They’re lame excuse “due to a massive server, crash“ was such a cop out. I’m a programmer and you know exactly how these things work. It’s a total cop out and now I’ve lost a good calculator.
I would gladly pay a flat fee for the original version to be able to restore all the templates I have written.

Terrible

Payed for a yearly subscription and when i go to use it ,nothing works, just asks if i want to pay for subscription

Miss old app!

PLEASE READ THIS,
The old app was way nicer! So handy to flip back and forth from loan to savings.
History was better. Displayed on calculator screen. Now it’s not and when you go to history it’s a nightmare to read it.
New version is just BAD.
I would pay to get old version back!

Update on “Wipes Out All My Library”

The dev got back to me with an easy fix involving logging out & back in on my other device. It’s now a great app again with all my library intact! One of my most useful apps because I like to write my own single-purpose calculator mini-apps. Example: What percent of 283 is 47?

Good program great service

I have used this program for years now. The application has multiple benefits. The customer service has also shown to be quite helpful in the chance of issues that may arise.

Other Languages

One of the best! It would be great if the app is available in more languages.

Crooks

I had bought the PowerOne calculator before now. They’ve removed it from the web store so I can buy their subscription only version. This is not on this is criminal and unethical. Please don’t support this company.

Calculator Was Unavailable — Problem Fixed

I’ve used PowerOne calculators for a long time, including the previous versions which separated finance features from scientific features. I’ve liked them. A recent update introduced a bug preventing users of the free version from getting to the calculator. That bug was fixed with a new update. Everything is back to working. Great calculator for an iPad or iPhone. So I’ve updated my review to 5 stars.

Can’t open calculator

App NO LONGER lets you open the actual calculator. It just keeps insisting on subscribing, and that screen never goes away.

UPDATE!
They just released another update in the App Store, and this thankfully fixes the issue I reported above. So, the review is now back to 5 stars!

Used to be able to use without paying

Opened this up today and found I can no longer use the calculator at all without paying. I am paywalled by the “Do more with premium“ ad covering the button that opens the simple calculator. Classy move, thanks for taking away free use.

Calculator Unavailable

I’ve used PowerOne calculators for a long time, including the previous versions which separated finance features from scientific features. I’ve liked them. I just noticed today with the updated model that I can’t get to the calculator. When I click the calculator button (lower right of screen), I now get sent to a page offering a subscription to premium features. When I click not now, it goes back to the templates and I do not get the calculator. This is happening on my iPad Pro and on my iPhone. I’m using the most up to date versions of the app and iOS/iPadOS. Any idea where the calculator is? Is it now only available with a subscription?

After Update, Calculator Locked

Calculator will show you the listing of templates but will not allow access to the calculator.

Calculated Power one

Great features and Functions, ease of use and most convenient layout and structure combined into this modest and (for me) most useful tool that is a fabulous
and valuable ready to use piece of kit that accompanies me and my travels wherever they may lead.

Miss old app!

The old app was way nicer! So handy to flip back and forth from call to loan to savings.
History was better.
New version is a pain.
I would pay to get old version back!

Time value of money is incredible

I love this app. I've used for years. Nothing comes close. My fav is the time value of money. It really hepls in planning.

A Must for anyone in finance

Without a doubt, PowerOne is the best financial calculator I have ever used. Just about anything I need in Excel I can replicate in the app, and it is often even easier to use than Excel (and certainly more convenient). Essential for calculating complex quotes and other needs on the fly.

Lost my favorite App, then found it again.

Update: the developer fixed my issues, so glad to have functionality back again in the new app. :)

I Just changed to a newer iPhone, and no longer have access to my favorite app, “Power One Financial Calculator”. Sadly, this same developer made a worse and more cumbersome version of it. I used to be able to calculate my 401k, and see the depreciation of an investment account, (without internet access!) but now I would have to pay eternally recurring payments to have access to all of that. And I have to search and add every template to get the list of templates I had before, and those I do get have parts of them removed, so I can’t reverse my calculations. The free versions of my most used templates are hamstrung. I’ll now need to use formulas in numbers until I can find a better and faster iOS financial calculator to replace what is now “Advanced” Savjngs and 401(K) I wish there was a better way to support developers of relatively simple apps like this.

Response from developer

Hi EzraEngle, I’m happy to help with this. The upgrade from PowerOne 4 to 6 used to be more seamless (transferred templates automatically, etc) but PowerOne 4 no longer runs on modern iOS devices. Instead I am helping customers one off. In short, it is my intention that you should not lose anything when upgrading. Please email me at hello@thecraftyweasel.com with the account used in PowerOne, confirm the version of PowerOne 4 you used, and I’ll make sure you have the same capabilities you had before at no additional charge. Older layout was better

This calculator is very powerful but not as visual attractive as it used to be. I know that I don’t make full use of its capabilities but I enjoyed the look and feel of the old layout better than the new one.

Use to be 5 star, not now

This was a fantastic app in the past — look at all the older reviews — but now charging monthly or annual subscription fee for anything more than 3 calculator functions/templates. I mean it’s still good, but in the end these are all mostly just basic math (spreadsheet) functions. I miss the old pay once for premium approach, otherwise these monthly subscriptions are just too rich for me.
