Greedy
And all this because they weren’t charging for the first one and discovered that they could charge for the second one. They’re lame excuse “due to a massive server, crash“ was such a cop out. I’m a programmer and you know exactly how these things work. It’s a total cop out and now I’ve lost a good calculator.
I would gladly pay a flat fee for the original version to be able to restore all the templates I have written.

Hi Namaste122112, I discontinued PowerOne Finance Pro, Scientific Pro and the free versions in 2018. Unfortunately they no longer function on Apple’s latest OS version, but my latest version, PowerOne 6, does and is available here: https://power.one/ios Fundamentally the templates are the same. (Tap + at the top of the list then Add from Library to add any templates you are interested in.) The calculator is now available from all screens and offers a lot more customization options. Also, if you have PowerOne on multiple devices and signed into the same account, all of your templates and calculations will sync. I promised to provide the same functionality as you previously had so you didn’t lose anything in the process. This used to be automatic but with the old app no longer functioning I can only add these for those who write in. With that and once you install, run and tap Get Started, tap ••• in the top, right corner of the list then Account and send me the anonymous email address listed. I can add free template creation and premium templates. Other items will still be available for subscription if you so choose. If you have access to the old version on your old iPad or exported your templates for safe keeping, I’m happy to help you move those to the new version as well. Please email if you would like my help. Elia hello@thecraftyweasel.com
Terrible
Miss old app!
The old app was way nicer! So handy to flip back and forth from loan to savings.
History was better. Displayed on calculator screen. Now it’s not and when you go to history it’s a nightmare to read it.
New version is just BAD.
I would pay to get old version back!
Update on “Wipes Out All My Library”
Response from developer
Hi tomtrevorrow, Happy to help. There could be a couple of possibilities here, but one of the reasons I built version 6 (the current version) is so we can sync your templates across devices and thus make sure they weren’t lost on a device failure. Were you using PowerOne 6 or an earlier version? Did you move to a new phone and have to log in again/create a new account? Or maybe you were on an earlier version of the app? Whatever the case please email me directly and I will do my best to help. Elia hello@thecraftyweasel.com

Calculator Was Unavailable — Problem Fixed
Response from developer
Hi BillW314, This is an unfortunate bug that was introduced in the previous release. A new version has been released that fixes the issue. You can either wait for Apple to update you automatically or go to PowerOne calculator in the App Store to manually update to the latest version. Elia
Can’t open calculator
UPDATE!
They just released another update in the App Store, and this thankfully fixes the issue I reported above. So, the review is now back to 5 stars!
Used to be able to use without paying
Calculator Unavailable
After Update, Calculator Locked
Calculated Power one
and valuable ready to use piece of kit that accompanies me and my travels wherever they may lead.
Miss old app!
History was better.
New version is a pain.
I would pay to get old version back!

A Must for anyone in finance
Lost my favorite App, then found it again.
I Just changed to a newer iPhone, and no longer have access to my favorite app, “Power One Financial Calculator”. Sadly, this same developer made a worse and more cumbersome version of it. I used to be able to calculate my 401k, and see the depreciation of an investment account, (without internet access!) but now I would have to pay eternally recurring payments to have access to all of that. And I have to search and add every template to get the list of templates I had before, and those I do get have parts of them removed, so I can’t reverse my calculations. The free versions of my most used templates are hamstrung. I’ll now need to use formulas in numbers until I can find a better and faster iOS financial calculator to replace what is now “Advanced” Savjngs and 401(K) I wish there was a better way to support developers of relatively simple apps like this.

Hi EzraEngle, I’m happy to help with this. The upgrade from PowerOne 4 to 6 used to be more seamless (transferred templates automatically, etc) but PowerOne 4 no longer runs on modern iOS devices. Instead I am helping customers one off. In short, it is my intention that you should not lose anything when upgrading. Please email me at hello@thecraftyweasel.com with the account used in PowerOne, confirm the version of PowerOne 4 you used, and I’ll make sure you have the same capabilities you had before at no additional charge. Elia
