The Best App for Nappin’

I use this every time I need a power nap to power up my day!

Treats naps as workouts?

Napping for half an hour using this app records it as an exercise for apps like Fitness etc. and no instructions on how to fix.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your feedback — that’s a fair point. PowNap uses a “Mind & Body” workout because watchOS requires an active workout session for continuous heart-rate tracking. Without this, the app wouldn’t be able to detect your state reliably. Because of this, the session is recorded as a workout in Apple Health and contributes to Activity Rings. This is system behavior and not something the app can control. If you prefer, you can disable writing workouts for PowNap in Apple Health. Heart-rate access still needs to stay enabled for the app to work. With workout writing disabled, no sessions will be saved to Health — Activity Rings are still increase while the session is running. I agree that this should be explained more clearly — I’ll make this more visible in the app. Thanks again for pointing it out.

Fancy timer

I bought this app thinking it would monitor my naps. It’s basically a timer that wakes you up after a set time.
It also adds that time to your Activity and Move rings, making it seem as if you are exercising:(
Please fix this PowNap!

Response from developer

Hello Marc — thank you for taking the time to share this. PowNap is not a passive sleep tracker. It’s an active recovery tool that you start intentionally, and it uses heart rate to decide when to wake you — within a short nap window. For reliable heart-rate detection, watchOS requires an active “Mind & Body” workout. This causes Activity Rings to be affected, which unfortunately cannot be changed by the app. I understand that this can be frustrating if you expect pure nap monitoring. I’ll take your feedback seriously and make the distinction between monitoring sleep and guided recovery even clearer in the App Store description. Thank you again for giving PowNap a try.
