Works

Had this installed for approximately 18months
Been working perfectly for last 16months, it still works now but sometimes doesn’t work live maybe need to be adjusted where it installed on the bike to pick up a better signal, apart from that it’s definitely worth it

Reviewing after bike stolen

It's only when your bike is stolen that you realise that knowing where it is is not enough.

I wanted to storm off into a rough part of my city to demand my bike back from the gang who had taken it, but thought better off it.

Persuading the police to go instead was harder than I thought it would be and took a lot of persistence.

Then I was surprised to find there was no way to share the location from the app with the police. I had to text the lead officer updates with my own description of where the bike was. This is a must have feature and the app is pretty useless without it.

The police persued the bike when they could for three hours based on the text message updates I sent them. Every time the police almost got them, they cycled off and my text updates were too slow for the police to catch up.

The thief with my bike did get tired of being chased though and abandoned my bike in a wood.

Based on the location I sent them the police failed to find it.

6 hours later the GPS coordate updated and put the bike 20 metres away from where it had been.

I was able to use the new location to get my bike back. It was very well hidden, but the coordinates were now spot on. The old coordinate had just been wrong and not been updated quick enough.

So I'm very pleased that I got my bike back, but the app was too slow to update the location and it was also very hard to share my bike's location with the police.

Katastrophe.

FAQ

What does the PowUnity app do?

The PowUnity app connects to a BikeTrax GPS tracker to provide real-time location tracking and anti-theft alerts for your e-bike or motorcycle. It also automatically records your routes, stores important bike information in a digital bike pass, and allows you to easily share theft data with the police.

How does the anti-theft feature work?

When your bike is moved without your permission, the app sends an immediate alarm notification to your phone. This feature provides Europe-wide anti-theft protection, ensuring you are alerted even if your bike is tampered with while parked.

Is the app free to use?

The PowUnity App itself is free to download and use. The flat-rate GPS-data subscription for the BikeTrax devices is also free during the first year. After the first year, a subscription fee may apply for the GPS data service.

What information can I store in the bike pass?

The bike pass acts as your bike's digital 'tyreprint,' allowing you to collect and store all important information. This includes photos, descriptions, proof of purchase, and proof of ownership, making it readily accessible in case of an emergency or theft.

Can I share my route information?

Yes, all your trips are automatically recorded and available in the PowUnity App. You have the ability to manage these routes, share them on social media platforms, or export them as a GPX file for further use.
