Crashes on IOS 11.2
Great app, but crashes regularly. Also won’t copy some photos with no explanation why.
Awesome Device!
Glad I bought this bit of kit, allows me to back up my photos on the go and gaining that extra bit of storage for them tunes you don't want anyone seeing in your pay list,
After all I have read a few reviews and have noticed a few speaking about the limitation allowing them to connect to other devices, surely if you wanted to connect to your other Networked HDD surely they would have a server address that you could simply log on to

Limited functions but good photo viewer
Pen works quite fast but it's more of a photo & music player than anything else. You can't edit documents on the pen in this app or any other app, which I'd bought it for. You can only view files. You can't upload docs from other apps or import files from other iOS apps into it. Also you can only use a mini sd memory card in it, so you'd need a card adaptor if you were viewing files from a camera to it. You can transfer pics from your camera roll to it. I had hoped to work on docs from my laptop & then continue working on my ipad but it doesn't let you do it. Manual is difficult to understand & doesn't cover what you need. Would love to import from emails as email but can't see how. The description of what it can do is misleading, it should say it's more for photo storage & viewing. Also it only backs up to another pqi device that you have to buy with possibly the same limitations. With wifi it should allow to store to your own existing wifi storage devices

Pros & Cons (more pros than cons)
I was excited when I receive this in the mail (took two long weeks to play with this bad boy). The PQI air pen was smaller than I had expected-- which is a good thing, can you imagine walking around with a big stick (no pun intended)? It's very compact and easy to use.
Before reading the manual, I had accidentally purchase a 64gb microSDHC instead of a 32gb so I did what any curious george would've done... I tested it. To my surprise it worked. However, the SD slot scares me since I don't see an eject button anywhere (which lost one star for me, what if I want to change out the SD card?)
Also, I find it easily to access the wifi port on the PQI air pen-- no password or anything! However, the app states that you can change the access wifi password... WRONG... there's no way of doing that because when you go into the setting page, there's only an option for those that already have a login account. You can't edit or manage it (another 1 star deduction there).
Other than the SD slot & wifi password, everything works perfectly. I had to convert a lot of my videos to the correct format but it was well worth it :)

Good kit, but no .mkv support
iPad update: files copied to the iPad cannot be opened in any app or emailed. So basically it doesn't work :-(
The hardware works well up to a point. The app will play a variety of media files from the micro SD card in the Pen. You can also copy any file on the card onto the iPhone and then email it out to the internet. This is handy, for example, to email Garmin .fit files directly to Strava. It would be better of this were possible directly I guess.
Sadly the app won't play .mkv video. Annoyingly it won't even hand them over to VLC for playback, if you have it on your phone. VLC can work the other way too, in that it can connect to network drives. However the Pen seems to block this. Similarly, direct FTP access seems to fail.
So, it's almost a wonderful device, but not quite. I bought it for the Garmin upload to Strava when I'm away on trips, so it's fine for that.
