Nobody practice like this!

I wonder if the team knows how a piano learner usually practice at all

Doesn’t have MIDI input support

It only tries to detect input from the microphone but it my couple of attempts it crashed after a few notes.
It doesn’t integrate with the MIDI keyboard so it is not super accurate.

Desktop is bug ridden

Although this app seems to have portential I have had quite a few issues with the desktop version. First, clicking Practice Now takes you to the library where you select your piece, which is terrible at scrolling manully with a laptop. This brings it up and you can play it, closing it exits the program!

Trying to open the practice log results in repeated logins never getting to the log.

Trying to open a xml music file results in an internal error dialog stating it can't open the extension to do so.

Maybe this works good on the iPhone and iPad but the desktop version is very bad and unusable to me. I hope that this can be corrected.w

Beautiful to Use and Great Potential

After many years of searching and downloading dozens of sheet music apps, PracticeBird is the best app I’ve found on the App Store for MusicXML playback and practice for practical practicing musicians.

I emphasise practice as for too long I was engrossed with music theory, books and apps that emphasised theoretical knowledge and mental exercises.

However, for spending time with your musical instrument and drilling technique, PracticeBird is a cut above the rest. The user interface design is clean, simple, uncluttered and stress free. The audio quality of the instrument samples are great, better than most other apps that use artificial sounding MIDI.

PracticeBird is a real pleasure to use and I hope this app grows from strength to strength. I look forward to my continued subscription as the developers release new updates. I’m especially excited for the incorporation of the rhythmic swing functionality which would allow my MuseScore arrangements of jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, calypso, afrobeats and more to sound amazing as intended.

Many thanks and best wishes to the development team.

Highly recommended.

very cute would be great for students

I downloaded this to open my music xml files. I was sorry that I could not annotate the score, but the visuals were great, the piano sound was pleasant, and it is a very calming interface. I think 44 dollars a year is a lot for what you get, but if I were looking for something child friendly this is very easy to use

I can not import music from my photos.

The title is self explanatory. It makes me very angry. This just made my terrible day even worse.

Think before updating

Since the newest update, a lot of the features that made PracticeBird useful have been hidden behind a monthly subscription paywall. You can no longer transpose pieces, or adjust the volume of each track unless you pay. Disappointing, as the app wasn't the cheapest to begin with.
Think twice before updating.
