Nice idea but needs improvement
Having now used the product\app for over a year, I’d like to share a few things about the Dock controller and Premier Remote app that I believe could be improved.
Scheduling Feature for Dock Lighting Accessory:
Currently, I often leave the dock lights on unintentionally, which leads to them running until I remember to turn them off. As the unit is internet-enabled, a scheduling feature could help automate this. It would be valuable to have an “on/off” timer for each lighting accessory within the app, allowing users to set a daily schedule or configure it to turn on and off based on local dawn and dusk times.
Physical Control Button for Lighting
On occasion, I am at the dock without my phone and would benefit from a manual on/off button for at least one set of lights on the control box.
Simplify PIN and Caution Acknowledgement for Lighting Controls
At present, entering a PIN and accepting a warning is required every time lights are turned on or off. Perhaps a “Remember My Choice” setting could bypass this process to streamline operations. Alternatively, the warning could appear only once per day or upon initial use.
Reduce Repetitive Inputs for Lift Controls
I understand the safety precautions regarding remote operation; however, the repeated steps add unnecessary friction. A potential solution might be requiring only the passcode, with a similar “Remember My Choice” setting to reduce clicks.
Enable App Background Operation
During boat loading, I’d like to continue using other apps for tasks like music selection, weather, or tides while the lift operation completes in the background. Currently, switching out of the app halts the process, requiring me to reopen it.
The system works well, but these few suggestions would go a long way to user satisfaction.
