Love the game but can you fix end game as it doesn’t work or maybe after pressing 50 times.
Terrible ads and no option to pay to remove them.
Ads should be removable by upgrading to a non ad solution. This game is now ruined
Hate the updated game May 2026
I used to love this game, I hate the updates they made in May 2026. Game is way too slow to play now , I will uninstall it after this review and search for another game. The rolling over of letters takes forever and is annoying, the constant pop up reminders if I type too fast , instead of just letting me play. The button to close & start another game is gone, you have to now go through the settings, no thanks!

What a shame i would pay for app no problem
What a shame on the last update I played every day why not just release a paid version without having to serve ads or collect all the data they can and selling your data to hundreds of the so called trusted partners
Ads annoying
The new version is nice, except for the ads which are far too hard to get out of. So when a game is over I simply leave the game now.

Newest update ruined it for me
I LOVED this game. I have been playing it for more than a decade. The update that was installed yesterday has removed the button that lets you end a game without having to wait for the timer to run out. What was the point of removing it? Sometimes I will be super stuck on a game and it was nice to quickly end it so I could see which words I missed and then start another game. Now I have to wait for the timer to run all the way down before it’ll let me start a new one? This game was super outdated but that genuinely what I ENJOYED about it. So many word games make you wait while coins stack, scorecards get boosted, cards flip over to reveal their other side, etc… I liked that this one you could just PLAY and PLAY and there was nothing to interrupt it in between each set. My dad used to say “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” There was nothing wrong with this game but the app developers felt the need to tinker with it anyway. I’m probably going to uninstall it now. Taking away that simple control didn’t improve a single thing on the dev end, as far as I can tell. And it wrecked the user experience for me entirely.

Literal scam
I wish I could include a screenshot of the most recent ad I got playing Pressed for Words. It looked just like my iPhone Home Screen, except for a dialogue box in the middle that said “Apple Security Alert: 8 viruses have been detected on your iPhone. Now iOS is damaged by 72%. Further damage to the system will result in device lockup and loss of all data within two minutes. Please click the button below to get instructions to remove all viruses.” - if this is a legal way to advertise on a game app, then I don’t want to live in this world anymore. New York Times has the same game btw - it’s not original and it doesn’t work very well. Oh also, try requesting app support and see the website it takes you too. Absolutely no links except to their other games.

Linking to a malicious site
Lately I’ve been seeing a fake warning that my phone is infected with viruses, along with a link to a site I am sure would download malware. They should not be allowing such ads.

This game is ridiculous. Whoever developed it does not know the English language. They have made up words that do not even exist! How about “outhit”??? What does that word mean??? I am deleting this game!

Bugs
Love this app been playing for years but lately there is some kind of AD playing in the background even if you toggle the sound on and off very annoying deleted the game twice in a week because of that I’ll try to download again soon to see if it’s gone thanks.
Missing words
The game is very addicting but it doesn’t recognize some words. ie Threw. I knew it was a word. I looked it up. It is a word.

I am not learning anything by rushing through game. Isn’t learning one of the goals of the game? Some of us need an alternate version where the objective is to see how many words we can make with no time limit.

I’m addicted to this game! But there’s just a few tweaks I’d recommend to make it better:
Make an ad free version. I’d pay for it!
Give an extra minute on the clock. I need just a little extra time.
Allow users to continue to mix the letters while letters are already selected.
