worst app created
can’t handle 3000 page files. consistently crashes mid read. don’t know why they had to go and ruin the files app when it worked just fine before this new app. i hate it.

Everyone else has said it — creating two separate apps between files and this preview app has been redundant and has created unnecessary friction. All it’s done is made things unnecessarily harder and I wish it would just go back to the way it was.
Keep crashing
This app keeps crashing when opened on my textbooks for school, has crashed on all my apple devices except for my computer. This is highly annoying and needs to be fixed

Good but barely working the way it should
I use this app a lot for school, every time I have to swipe to find the page it crashes, even when I’m writing with the pencil it doesn’t save and I have to rewrite everything all over again. This bothers too much and wastes time. Fix your app if you want to be useful.
Why is this a thing
Alright hear me out. As a modder, I would use files to replace textures in my base mods so I can use them in game. Now the problem with this is that I would click on the image file, and it would show the file in a better view. Now it opens on whatever this thing is. Like I don’t want to open images in a separate app. Hopefully this review finds you well and thank you for reading.

Don’t rely on highlight feature for PDFs
Students beware. If you use this app for highlighting PDFs, those highlights will eventually become biased and will lose position of where you highlight.

We used to be able to directly access pdfs through files and now everything has to go through preview. Extremely clunky and very hard to navigate. Not to mention the many bugs

Potential app
Could've been great for creating and editing pdfs and scans if it wasn't forced onto other apps. Now if you have this anything you have in your files app has to be opened through this instead of just letting the apps exist separately.

It intercepts perfectly usable files and doesn’t allow an easy way to disable it
Frustrating!
So annoying to use. Keeps resizing my document when I’m trying to read it. Switching back and forth is annoying. PDF expert is much better.

This app has never worked. It glitched the first time I tried to use it and it has never recovered. I can’t read the description because multiple menus are trying to be displayed at once, and for some reason there is a useless looking glass you can drag around. Idk what this app is even supposed to do. What an epic fail.

First, the application showed up out of nowhere and its so difficult to navigate files. Files are more disorganized. Its just a poorly implemented addition that noone asked for

Breaks the usability of the iOS files app
This update has made a basic iPhone workflow significantly worse. I regularly open photos directly from the Files app, and now instead of simply previewing the image in place, iOS launches the separate Preview app. That means every single time I check a photo, I have to swipe back out of Preview just to return to the folder I was already working in.
That may sound minor, but when you’re reviewing a large number of images it adds constant, unnecessary friction to something that used to be fast and simple.
I finally deleted Preview because I was tired of being kicked out of Files every time I opened an image. Somehow that made things even worse: now HEIC photos try to open in Image Playground/Apple Intelligence instead. So Apple has taken an ordinary task—tap a photo in Files and look at it—and turned it into a choice between two completely unnecessary app launches.
Files should have a built-in, in-place image viewer. Opening a photo should not throw me into another app, and deleting Preview certainly shouldn’t cause ordinary image files to default to an AI image-generation app.
This is a textbook example of making a mature workflow worse in the name of adding features nobody asked for. Please restore simple, in-Files photo previewing

This is one of the worst apps for trying to fill out PDFs. Apple you should be ashamed. With all the great technology you provide you all have failed to create an app that is helpful for filling out pdfs. It has so many bugs it, it is not easy to use, it has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. It has caused me to get an app outside of the Apple interface to complete all my projects. All in all this all is terrible!
