About

Be findable. Not trackable. privIsee lets you share your live GPS location with the people you choose — without handing your whereabouts to anyone else. Not even to us. Most location-sharing apps send your exact position to their servers, where it can be stored, analysed or leaked. privIsee works differently: your location is encrypted on your phone before it ever leaves it. Our server only stores ciphertext. Your friends see you. The server sees noise. HOW IT WORKS • Pick how long you want to be findable: 15 minutes up to 24 hours. • Tap "Go live". Your phone creates a secret key and a share link. • Send the link to whoever should find you — via any messenger, mail or SMS. • They open it in any browser and see your position as a live dot on a map. No app or account needed on their side. • When time runs out — or when you tap "Go dark" — the link stops working. WHY IT'S PRIVATE • End-to-end encrypted: every position update is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device. • The key never reaches our server: it lives only in the part of the link after the "#", which browsers never transmit. • No location history: only your latest encrypted position is kept and each update overwrites the last one. • No accounts: no name, e-mail or phone number required. • No cookies, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. • Expired shares are deleted automatically. • Open source: every claim above can be checked in the code. GREAT FOR • Meeting friends at a festival, a crowded station or in a new city • Letting someone know you're on your way home • Coordinating pick-ups without "where are you now?" messages • Hikes, runs and rides where someone should be able to find you SEE IT FOR YOURSELF While you're live, privIsee shows you exactly what the server received: an unreadable block of ciphertext. A countdown tells you when the link goes dark, and you can stop sharing at any moment. Good to know: anyone who has your full link can see your location while the share is active — so only send it to people you trust. privIsee — spoken "privacy".
