Shows promis but buggy AF

Crashes often, hard to do any details work like moving a note in edit , sticky

Midi learn?

Looks good…but without midi learn is not very useful to me…or am i missing something?

Outstanding

This actually works extremely well for a workflow where you record your loops in AUM and then import/arrange them in Sketch. Very intuitive.

Definitely needs work

Great idea, and while it’s not ground breaking it would be great for starting ideas and finishing them in ProTools but recording with it can be a mess….its just too distracting sometimes trying to get everything to start at the same time…like how hard can it be to have an actual overall transport control that also has a record button? At this point it’s just easier to use other IPad apps and export the audio and import it into ProTools than using this app, because this app can be a vibe killer more often than not tbh.

Awful

Avids attempt at ripping off Ableton Live and it falls flat on its face, it’s buggy, clunky and nothing more than a gimmick. And after my educational subscription- which was a perpetual licence according to the “my products” tab on their website - expired and they took access off me, their true colours have shone through, they are thieves who steal and lie, nothing is straightforward with them and if you are a student STAY WELL CLEAR AS THEY WILL ROB YOU.

It’s a good start

It’s perfect, Auv3 plugin would be nice add so I can use Koala sampler in it.

Great app

This is a great app very useful

Could be great. Lacks instruments

Shame has so much potential. Needs about 10x the amount of instruments just not fun. Yay a piano sound. Wow lol

Worst beat music maker ever

Look I like samples because they sample DJ mixes from older songs and add new effects but clearly this one doesn’t work at all and really makes no sense and it only plays one beat that you made if you press the other one it can play then it stops then you have to press it all over again and it doesn’t have any audio background music and I don’t have any headphones I thought it should ether with headphones Or No headphones i like how it’s free but the music doesn’t mix

Awesome…with need for minor tweaks!

First, wow… such an awesome and easy loop player and music creation tool! Fast and efficient and easy to manage. Second, free…I mean really!?! But here is number three…I would gladly pay additional for the ability to import sounds and loops for use with the installed synth and system. Adding the ability to import loops, short samples, etc., sends this off the charts! An amazing app already could become nectar from the Gods!

Shows some promise

I would describe this as ableton live lite. Some of the free sounds are of high quality and serve most of your bread and butter needs. The SynthCell is actually quite powerful in its own right even if it does look underwhelming.

I think Avid’s intention here is only to pull new users into the pro tools eco-system, so whilst I WOULD request the addition of support for 3rd party auv3 instruments and effects, I’m doubtful its on their road map.

I’m all for competition in the mobile DAW space and this could well suit your needs but I have no intention of switching to pro tools anytime soon after using this.

From what I can tell, nobody is talking about this app!? V1.0 reminds me of the early iOS tools available on the app store, good for noodling but thats about it in its closed eco-system.

I’d love to see Avid develop this further but if i could put money on it, I would bet this app will be stale in 2-3 years and left to rot due to lack of maintenance after future iOS updates rendering it broken, then suddenly disappearing from the app store without any noise like so many others.

Good luck devs! This shows some promise, if only avid will allow you to continue evolving it!!!

I can’t import my own samples | dropbox greyed out

Hi, Am I missing anything obvious? I can’t import audio from any location. Could you please help?

Incredible truly intuitive and music focused with excellent sound!

I’m smitten with this incredible piece of software from pro tools folks who give us this amazing tool absolutely free . I’m using it to compose a classic movie cue today and it’s just coming together very quickly and although I was wondering about ed, instruments placement location of mixer ,after just a half an hour I’m feeling completely comfortable doing it all within pro tools sketch. I’m sure as the day continues I will complete a full song with midi and audio . That is exactly the result I expected but didn’t get with Logic Pro on iOS ! All other iOS DAW creators take note . Now I have two excellent music focused daws on the iPad with this and Korg Gadget ! We now have amazingly powerful folks working for us on iOS ! I have goose bumps! 😁😁👽👽✌️✌️🤣🤣

Great app but ableton link doesn’t work and it’s missing 3 features.

It doesn’t sync with other apps nor recording any external midi cc, nor host auv3.. With this 3 added it would be the perfect sketch Pad. Don’t give up! It could be an excelent motivation to pay for the desktop version. But if reaper does an ipad sketchpad…

Good but seems to crash a lot

Enjoying using this app to take ideas into Pro Tools. It does seem to crash more than other music apps on my iPad mini5. I’ve learned to save any projects frequently, which is good practice anyway I suppose. It would have been a 5 star review if it was more stable. Hopefully this will happen in future updates. I also use Ableton Note but find the workflow of this app more my scene!
