Cool app but…
I’ve been looking for an app to animate easily since I’m a beginner animator and this one has been working great for me! I just wanna ask if there is a way to download the animations onto photos. I don’t know if I’m just dumb and can’t find it or there is really no way to save videos :(. Anyways this app is cool :D!

Really good but one thing…
This is a really good app to animate with, but when I was animating with the mercy brush it didn’t work it was just blank and did nothing for some reason can your company please fix that?
Needed items
So i’ve been using procreate since 11th of july, I want to start animating, but, I think all this needs to be better for animating is a RULER TOOL AND QUICK SHAPES, basically it just spawns in circles or squares, some examples can be ibis paint X or flipaclip
Laggy
Feels quite laggy on my iPad — not unusable, but noticeable. Procreate on the other hand, runs super smoothly and I’ve never had issues with it. I’m running on an iPad Air 4th Gen, for what it’s worth. I hope they can improve the speed overtime!

I plan to make a animated series on YouTube for this and I love how the features work on my old animating programs they weren’t for me but then I found this Procreate dreams I say it said animate so I bought it and now I am working on a series! I recommend you also use it aswell!🔥🔥🔥♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍
All-Around Great
i love this app. 2.0 jst made it even better! it’s really beginner friendly, but even still, has more complicated aspects for people who already know what theyre doing! it’s just great to see something like this online. it’s perfect!
Great potential, just not there yet
Procreate Dreams has so so much potential for a procreate based animation software. I bought it as soon as it came out in 2023. I patiently waited for the Liquify tool… and yet. 3 years later, no liquify tool. I can’t animate without it. Please add it. And soon.
Great! but one minor thing
I love this app, very great for animation, especially after the 2.0 update! just a very minor issue I have, whenever you duplicate something it makes a new track, and same goes with making a new flip book/drawing etc, it’s really annoying and I think I’d be better whenever you did any of these that it just adds to the current track like how it did in 1.0
Also please remove the dings and jingles whenever I do some things it’s literally useless
Also I’m pretty sure this is a glitch, sometimes when I’m drawing(doesn’t really matter where, just have to be drawing, flipbook or other), what I’m listening to in the background (I’m listening to YouTube) will just glitch, and stop playing its audio, but keeps going, so when the audio is back, it’s a few seconds later(it’s not the biggest audio stop, just a few seconds or maybe 30 seconds at most) it’s rather annoying, hope you can fix this!

Kind of Bare
Given dreams has been out since 2023 now, this review is needed. This program is bare on two aspects. The features that it has largely works well, and I enjoy the simplicity and ease there is to use it. There isn’t a huge learning curve compared to other programs like adobe.
But dude. It’s been three years and there’s only presets available for sizing? There should at least be an option to do a custom sizing too, and it’s just weird to not have that as an option. And I’d appreciate if the presets they did have said what width and height it is, because “social” preset doesn’t help. A lot of social media sites have different sizes for their shorts, and even with screen sizes, that too varies.
Along with that, I so far haven’t been able to actually transport a transparent video or animation. I animated faces on dreams to implement onto an after effects animation, but every time (no matter what formatting I did) never actually had a transparent background. If there are extremely specific advance settings you need for this, either it should automatically select those settings to be transparent, or there needs to be a pop-up directing it.
These two things are huge hitters on quality of the program for me. Especially with the transparency option, because for me, “why offer the option if it doesn’t work/doesn’t work well?”

It has potential
I honestly didn’t understand this app at first even as a procreate veteran but I understand where to draw I didn’t understand the cube in the middle till now but all this really needs for me is the Apple Pencil Pro full support
Nearly There!
This is a fantastic app for animation as far as I can tell. I just began animating and dreams have been amazing! It is polished and easy to use, there has been a 2 main issues for me though:
1. Performance mode is confusing. Not sure whether this is to do with me not having an Apple Pencil but I cannot seem to rotate during the mode? It simply doesn’t exist. Along with this whenever I use the warp, or distort it also just says it can’t be used on the content. I can only use scale and move or the filters.
2. Compared to apps like ToonSquid, dreams seams to be missing a few powerful features. For example, Bone rigging is an extremely useful tool that allows for quick 2D animating. Meshes being another feature left out (from my belief). But really, the most prominent missing feature is the inability to curve key frames, although performance mode can do this automatically and technically you can do it manually, when you need precise curves, you cannot make individual key frames or performance mode really work.
Overall it is a wonderful, high quality app for animation and it has made a long way from version one(missing lasso back then😬), it still has ways to go!

Awesome, but…
I use this app all the time. I love it so much. But…
3D animation. If we could rig (for 2D this would be awesome too) and make models and do 3D animation (or also make 3D environments), then I would love it even more. If this already came in an update and I need to update my software (so I can update Dreams) that is my fault for not updating it. Also, merging videos. If I could have multiple at a time, that’d be awesome. I often use clips from other animations I’ve done, and I can’t merge them and can only use one at a time, which is annoying. Not too annoying, just mildly annoying. Anyway, have a good day. I think you should get this app if you haven’t yet, though :)

Great but laggy
Would be a wonderful app if it wasn’t constantly so laggy. It’ll lag right when I open the app, and then after using it for a bit and dealing with the glitches and freezes, it will eventually crash.
Other than that, it is a brilliant animation tool and if it ran smoothly it would really be a great app.

Just needs a ruler tool :D
This app is amazing! I’m still learning the tools and how it works but I 100% recommend this app for people that are looking for a good quality app! Although it might be tricky for beginners since there are no tutorials and I’m already experienced with animating(but there’s some tutorials on YouTube). I would really appreciate if there was a ruler tool for straight lines or a tool to make smooth shapes! I think people would like this more if this was added.

Hi! I’m currently practicing storyboarding on this app! However for the flipbook, I don’t see an option for a ruler tool so unfortunately I have to improvise
Amazing but one thing
I have a long animation I’ve been working ever since the first version and I must say it’s great but sometimes I’d come back the next day to work on it and all my layers where gone and some where impossible to erase.
Meh
It’d be decent if it didn’t lag 50 times more than regular procreate.
Play head and Dragging frame functions
I am having a lot of issues with both of above functions not working or working intermittently. I love this app - never had any issues with V1 and really hope above can be fixed as soon as possible
