Like the others say
“Free version” is not actually available. Even if you can’t X out of the paywall, the widget will only have an ad for the paid subscription instead of words.
Extremely aggressive paywalling
Pressing the “X” during the first-open-experience doesn’t get you to the app, it gives a discount advertisement.
Not even remotely worth a subscription.
Not even remotely worth a subscription.
It's paid app mascarading as free
2.99-4.99 a month. Hate when apple allows this
Why would I pay a monthly subscription for this?!
Cute idea, really liked the look of it. But a monthly subscription for the definition of a word on my Lock Screen? GURL.
Fully Paywalled
Word for word copy of the Vocabulary app, but the paywall is impassible. Not sure if that’s intended, but when I tried to X out of the paywall it only threw up a deal repeatedly. Just get Vocabulary

Hi! Sorry to hear about your experience. We allow users to close the paywall to experience the free version of the app with thousands of words. We'll look into it🕵
Free version
Seems too good to be true. I’ve been using just the free version for an hour now and there are no ads, easy format and great words
Requires a subscription to do anything on the app
The app opens with a onboarding process, but before it even teaches you a word you have to sign up for the subscription. I’d understand if the subscription gave access to more advance features, like maybe without it you only get one word a day, but to have the whole app completely paywalled is ridiculous.

Hello! If you click the "X" in the top left of the paywall it will take you to the main app experience where you can learn 30 words a day completely free. You can also use the lockscreen widget this way. Happy learning!!
