About

ProjectAR places 3D models in the room around you at true scale, so you can judge size, proportion and fit before anything is made or built. BRING YOUR OWN FILES Import USDZ, Reality, GLB, glTF and OBJ files from Files, Mail or AirDrop, or drag them in on iPad. Place a model on a floor, table or wall, and add as many as you need. Every model stays in your library on this device. TRUE TO SCALE View at life size or tabletop size, or set an exact scale from 10:1 to 1:500. Measure anything in the room with the built-in tape. Remember Placement puts models back where you left them when you return to the same room. CAPTURE THE VIEW Take photos and record videos of your design in place, with optional narration from the microphone. Captures are kept in the app and can be saved to Photos automatically. SCAN A ROOM On iPhone and iPad models with a LiDAR Scanner, scan a room into a simple 3D model of its walls, doors, windows and furniture, and export it as a USDZ file. LIVE FROM BLENDER Install the free, open-source add-on for Blender 4.2 or later on Windows, macOS or Linux, and your scene streams to ProjectAR over your local network. Move an object or change a material and the view updates within a fraction of a second. With a live scene you can also: • Pin review notes to the model. They appear in Blender too. • Compare design options and switch between them from your device. • Try materials and hide objects. • Share a session with people nearby, so everyone sees the scene in the same spot. • Send a room scan into Blender, lined up with your scene. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no cloud and no analytics. Your scene goes straight from your computer to your device, and nothing is sent to the developer. FOR RESEARCHERS Study Mode logs interactions with timestamps for user studies, and exports them as CSV or JSON. Logs stay on your device until you export them. Requires iOS 17 or later. Room scanning requires a LiDAR Scanner.
