Search function was not working. Now it is back to normal. I can easily search the proper account. Very helpful when you have dozens of accounts.
Gut, aber mit Luft nach oben
Grundsätzlich gute Funktion und angenehme Optik. Was mich aber stört, ist der Umgang mit dem Anzeigen oder Ausblenden der Keys. Es geht nur "Anzeigen" oder "Verbergen". Sinnvoll wäre die Option "Verbergen", wenn durch Anklicken eines Keys dieser sichtbar werden würde. Manchmal funktioniert bloßes Kopieren einer nicht sichtbaren Zahl eben nicht.

Best Authenticator App
This has been the best Authenticator app that I’ve personally used (and I’ve used several). Works very well for everything you can ask for with this kind of app and I love the peace of mind it brings with knowing they’re not harvesting unnecessary personal data. I’m not a fan of the fact that the encryption keys for windows OS desktop app is stored locally…defeats the purpose in my eyes for privacy and security, hoping that’s updated in the future. I also am hopeful for it to fully integrate/sync with proton pass eventually if you choose to opt into that. I’d recommend the use of this app to anyone.

Der Authenticator tut, was er soll. Synct zwischen Linux Distros und macOS ohne Probleme. Bin aktuell sehr zufrieden. Gerne weiter so!

Not Bad
Let down by a few things:
a) No browser extension.
b) Can’t manually choose an icon for a brand like you can in other software (i.e. cant choose Microsoft icon for Microsoft login).

Backup issues
This morning I got this message when using the app
“iCloud backup is no longer available- Your 2FA codes are safe. Due to reliability issues with Apple's iCloud, we've switched to the new backup - works with any drive app including Proton Drive, Dropbox, iCloud and more”.
It would appear from my settings it’s no longer backing up to iCloud. The message however suggests iCloud is still an option. A circular message, it would seem. Needs work.

Anything but google.
I refuse to use google anymore. This is a great authenticator app. Proton mail and vpn are also excellent for privacy. Never going back. Beyond sick of the ai.
Gut mit Einschränkungen
Insgesamt funktioniert die App sehr gut, nur leider funktioniert die Synchronisierung über den Account (nicht iCloud!) auf meinen Apple Geräten nicht. Ich muss mich immer wieder neu anmelden. Bei Windows und Android ist es kein Problem.

Neat Implementation, but redundant
This is a neat tool, but I would much prefer to have an Authenticator tab built into Proton Pass

I like you can sync between devices with your Proton account but every time you open the app your 2fa accounts have changed position...tried on 2 different iPhones different models and 2 different iPads and those were also 2 different models and the 2fa accounts change position every single time. Ente and 2FAS are my number 1 and 2 with Proton in last place until they get their finger out! I can reproduce this time after time constantly changing positions each time I open the app...on the other Ente and 2FAS never change the position of your accounts. Tried on 2 different models of iPhone and 2 different models of iPad

Can't backup codes to Proton Drive
The latest release says you have the ability to backup your codes to Proton Drive. However the last release of proton drive removes it from the Files app. There is no way to set your codes to backup on Proton Drive.

Removed iCloud sync
This app was amazing, but they removed free iCloud syncing which automatically kept all my codes up to date across all my devices (including Windows with iCloud installed).
Sorry, I don’t want to have to trust Proton with all my security codes by creating an account there. (And, yes, Proton Authenticator is open source, but there’s no way to verify the open source code was used to build this app.)

What have you done!!!
Removed iCloud backup which has always worked for me and replaced it with something that does not work! I switch on Auto Backup and it asks for a password, that’s understandable. However, after you save you password, you are simply thrown into Apples File app in its recent folder with no file there yo save or check.

Bug with biometric lock
Select "Biometric lock" in the settings. Now when you open the app on a device which requires touch ID (iPad Air M3) you need to touch the sensor on the device in order to open the app. However, if your finger(s) you use for authentication is injured, or you select "Cancel" in the touch ID popup, you will not be able to use the app any more. The touch ID popup will keep coming up and it will never be dismissed. As a result, you can't even swipe the app to the background, which will render you entire device unusable unless you shut it down. Normally if touch ID fails the third time, the system presents entering your device code. But this option is not presented if touch ID fails, so you are cooked. This is stupid. In order to have biometrics enabled on your device, you have to have a code as well. So why lock people out of the app and their device if touch ID fails, and in those cases just present the code entry option.

Finally a clean authenticator app that doesn’t feel shady
I'd say this app deserves four stars overall. It handles the main stuff pretty solidly, and its cleaner than most security apps out there. You open it quick when you need a code, and everything looks straightforward without all the junk. No weird ads popping up or pushes to buy something extra, which is nice for a 2FA tool like this. The privacy side stands out too, especially since it’s free. That makes me more likely to suggest it to people. I think thats the part that gets it points over some others. But yeah, it doesnt quite hit five for me because it still comes off as kind of new. With these authenticator things, I worry more about trusting it long term rather than just the basic idea. Ive only used it a bit, so Im not ready to say its perfect yet. If youre already set up with something like Apple Passwords that works right into your phone, switching might not even cross your mind. Stability matters a ton here, since even tiny glitches could mess up access to accounts. Proton has patched some starting bugs, which shows they care, but it also reminds me the apps still growing up. I might be oversimplifying, but that maturing process feels real. I plan to stick with it myself, mainly because its simple and privacy oriented without any ad nonsense. It seems solid enough for now, though not totally flawless. Close to being really great, I guess.
