Works good

Always found Proton Wallet to be a random app they released to their suite of products. Overall it works great…just wish that they had an option to make it more of a digital wallet outside of just bitcoin. Having features that allowed for daily card transactions, and other crypto would be really handy. Overall, the app has been a great resource for bitcoin at the very least.

Simple, does what I need it to do!

Simple, clean wallet without trying to sell me things!

Lost everything-scam

App froze and would not allow me to save my assets, essentially proton robbed me of millions of dollars worth of Pepe

Response from developer

This doesn't sound right. Have you lost access to your Wallet app? Please keep in mind that Proton Wallet is a self-custody service, and in case you do have recovery methods enabled, we can try to help you regain access to the account. Utility

Well the wallet serves its purpose quite well to just store and keep bitcoin safe. It would be awesome if it would calculate ur average cost and gains for you. The transferring fees that you pay whenever transferring crypto from wallet to wallet is not horrible and it’s worth it if you’re paranoid about asset security. In my opinion it would be cool if they added more mechanics like being able to buy crypto (LINK, BTC, ADA) through the app but for the sole purpose of keeping ur bitcoin safe I’d give it a 9/10. I combined it with a password manager and used all the extra safety precautions but I feel like it could still be more secure. I’m a fully integrated proton user. I use all their products and like every other project done by them, it’s amazing :). Hope to see a bank/card wallet or something like it soon!

OK but limited in scope

Part of the Proton ecosystem. A decent wallet, but a bit limited…only offers BTC.

Great app

Wish they could do like Apple wallet does but still decent

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. Keep in mind that this, unfortunately, is not doable in the near term due to the need to convince and integrate with thousands of banks around the world. We started with Bitcoin because it's a permissionless network that anyone can join and use. We'll greatly appreciate it if you can change your rating to reflect your satisfaction with the rest of the features our service offers.

Another great Proton product

Not much to say besides good job guys, another easy to use, secure product

Small dark app icon

Put the app in a folder, then there’s a dark app icon missing…

A privacy wallet without a privacy coin

Add monero support and I will give 5 stars.

Response from developer

We chose Bitcoin to be the foundation for Proton Wallet because it is the most widely adopted and decentralized digital money. While we'll make sure to document your altcoin request accordingly, Proton Wallet is a Bitcoin-only wallet at this time. If you've found it useful as such, we'd appreciate it if you adjusted your rating to reflect this.

Zero Privacy

If you add Monero, I will change my review to 5 stars. :)

Response from developer

Most crypto wallets support dozens if not hundreds of different cryptocurrencies to promote trading and speculation. This causes their user experience and security to be compromised by complexity and not focused on Bitcoin, the most secure and widely adopted digital asset. At Proton, we believe in quality over quantity, so at least for now, Proton Wallet only supports Bitcoin. This allows us to focus our resources on building the best Bitcoin wallet, but we'll add your vote for this so that our team is aware of the demand.

Excellent

Easy to use and understand. Secure and responsive.

Please Fix Dark Mode Icon

Dark mode icon reverts to white inside of folder on iOS Home Screen.

Response from developer

That doesn't sound right. Can you restart your device and see if this resolves the behavior? If not, please contact us at https://proton.me/support/contact?topic=Proton+Wallet so we can further help.

Simple to use and user friendly

If fisher-price did crypto they would envy the UX of Proton, legitimately review reader, if I can work it out anyone can. Bravo Proton and thank you

Good Wallet

Transaction fees are small

Love Proton, but this one choice makes zero sense

I’m a long-time Proton user and a big supporter of their mission. I pay for the full suite, and I trust Proton more than almost any company when it comes to privacy, encryption, and transparency. That’s why I was really excited to see Proton launch their new wallet — until I realized the only supported cryptocurrency is Bitcoin (BTC).

That decision feels totally backward for a company built on privacy. Bitcoin is public by design — every transaction is permanently visible on the blockchain. There’s nothing private about that. If Proton truly wants to align the wallet with its brand and values, the first and only coin that should have been supported is Monero (XMR) — the only major cryptocurrency that actually protects user privacy.

Anyone can find a decent Bitcoin wallet. But a truly secure, privacy-centric wallet from a company like Proton that supports Monero (XMR) would be revolutionary. I’m still a loyal Proton user, but this feels like a missed opportunity. Supporting Monero (XMR) would make Proton Wallet live up to the same standard of privacy the rest of the ecosystem represents.

Great, Please Add Other Coins

Love it, works flawlessly. I wish it had ETH and XMR support.

Lacks hardware wallet support

Nice app but would be nice to support hardware wallets like Ledger, keep everything in one place.

Digestible Convenience

It has functionalities that make this app very user-friendly, I love the fact I can reflect my balance in SATS so I can have a different view on my accumulation. You can create more than one account and you can even send bitcoin through email

Secure Wallet

Please remove the ability to buy bitcoin. It erodes trust in the wallet. If the ability to buy bitcoin is kept, please provide all fees (and spreads) for absolute transparency. Please consider different providers. Please add Lightning Network support.

Response from developer

We did remove the "Buy" option from the Proton Wallet Apps due to performance issues related to our 3rd party on-ramp partners. This is a temporary decision we've made, and we cannot guarantee the option will be available again as it depends on different factors. As of now, you can purchase Bitcoin through the web app on your browser. Also, we chose Bitcoin to be the foundation for Proton Wallet because it is the most widely adopted and decentralized digital money. While we'll make sure to document your request accordingly, Proton Wallet is a Bitcoin-only wallet at this time. If you've found it useful as such, we'd appreciate it if you adjusted your rating to reflect this.
