I am now in the habit of my morning paper again…online☕️ and I love the ease and availability of looking back at previous issues.
Surprised at the ease of usage
I was leery about switching to online but am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to manipulate and follow as if I were reading the paper version.
Pop up adds
The latest version introduced really annoying adds that pop up all over the place when you are reading an article. Unfortunately, it is the straw of a newspaper that has been quickly going downhill in quality that will finally break my back and prevent me from resubscribing when my subscription runs out in a month or so.

Keeping us well informed
The ProJo is giving us the info we need to be well informed on local and regional news. There is also many fun and quirky RI stories.
Great Digital Version of ProJo
Occasional issues when Apple updates operating system. Otherwise works nicely so I can read ProJo on my iPad and even in my iPhone Mini by scanning pages and tapping on the articles that I want to read.
Great resource
This app not only gives me a professionally prepared edition of the Providence Journal, but it also provides a gateway to e papers from all over the country. It is a very user friendly app , and my paper is waiting for me to enjoy with my first cup of coffee to start my day. Informed citizens are essential to the success of our experiment in representative democracy, and this app ensures that we are informed.

What a News Paper Should Be
Enjoying on catching up with news from the place I grew up.
Works pretty good
The app works much better than using the website accessed e edition. At least with Chrome.
Use this app to access other non working GateHouse e-editions
I installed this app as I was having problems with Pueblo Chieftain e-edition app crashing. Both publications are in the GateHouse Media inc. family of newspapers. From this app I can access and read the Pueblo Chieftain e-edition without any issues. I have shared this information with the Pueblo Chieftain suggesting they start using this app. If you are having issues with your Pueblo Chieftain e-edition app closing out, I suggest you install the Providence Journal app as it may solve your problems also.

Almost Perfect
Thank you for making this an easy to maneuver app!
One thing I used to be able to do, but I’m not sure that I still can, is to. Copy an article and sent it to myself for future reading. Sometimes I just have time to scan the headlines and that feature allows me to catch up with the article and even reminds me to.

Huge Improvement
Historically ProJo has had a horrible online presence, starting with a frustratingly difficult process for maintaining account authorization and access across platforms (phone, tablet, laptop). Now much better, e-edition is very smooth. If only the content were better. The sports page is literally yesterday’s news.

Natural Format
I really like the way the app shows the actual paper. It is reminiscent of actually reading a paper newspaper. Even better, it pulls together the pieces of the articles.
Balanced reporting
I start my day with Providence Journal. Later when I have time I look at my local California papers.

Great way to catch up
The Providence Journal app is a great way to catch up on the news and sports especially while you’re on the run!
Not what it used to be
I have read the ProJo since I came to RI as a student in 1960.
I am well aware of the need to cut personnel in today’s economy. I also know that I can no longer count on the ProJo for all the news. Not long ago, when my team finished a game in the evening, the results would appear with my morning delivery. No longer. But even major news events often do not appear in my morning paper. An earth shattering verdict came out of a Carolina court last Wednesday at noon. Thursday and Friday went by. Not a mention in the paper.
We will continue with home delivery and the e edition. I believe in newspapers. I believe in supporting newspapers! I fear for the future of newspapers!

Layout
I enjoy the fact that the layout of the paper on the app is the same as the actual paper
Too complicated
Often, when I receive a news alert, I need to sign in. Once I sign in to this app, I believe I should not have to sign in every time I get a new alert or story to read.
