FAQ
What is Proximitii?
Proximitii is a social map application that allows users to selectively share their location with friends, create shared photo albums from events, and maintain a private journal of their past travels. It focuses on connecting users with people and experiences around them while prioritizing privacy.
How does Proximitii handle location sharing privacy?
Proximitii offers granular control over location sharing. Users can choose to share their precise location with specific friends, share only that they are 'nearby' with others, or remain completely invisible. Hidden Zones can also be set to keep certain locations off the map entirely.
Can I share photos and videos with friends on Proximitii?
Yes, Proximitii enables users to share media from events with everyone who was present. This creates shared albums where attendees can contribute their best shots, fostering a collective memory of experiences like concerts or gatherings.
Does Proximitii have ads?
No, Proximitii is ad-free. The app explicitly states 'No ads, no data brokers, your location is never sold,' ensuring an uninterrupted user experience.
How does Proximitii compare to other location-sharing apps?
Unlike many location trackers that broadcast exact positions constantly, Proximitii emphasizes selective sharing and privacy. It offers features like 'nearby' visibility and temporary location-sharing groups, differentiating it from apps with more open broadcasting.
Can I delete my data on Proximitii?
Yes, Proximitii provides users with the ability to delete their history or their entire account directly within the app at any time. This empowers users to manage their personal data and privacy.
What is the 'Crossed Paths' feature in Proximitii?
The 'Crossed Paths' feature in Proximitii allows users to discover instances where they were at the same place and time as another person, even before they knew each other. It helps reveal unexpected overlaps in users' histories.
What devices does Proximitii support?
Currently, Proximitii supports iPhone devices. Information regarding support for other platforms like Android is not provided in the current data.
