Canary in the coal mine

This app may not have saved my life, but it’s certainly saved me a lot of grief.

Amazing app

Saved my day so many times. Perfect app

Scammer?

I downloaded the app when it was free and hadn’t used it so far. I get an email saying I’ve been charged and suddenly when the app price goes up my card was charged. My card is not attached to the app and cannot be used without my password so I don’t know how on gods green earth this app charged my card. Very upset. Waiting on a refund. I don’t mind paying if I’m willingly doing it myself but don’t somehow charge my card without me knowing. Pathetic excuse for human beings behind this app.

Response from developer

Hey, this shouldn’t have happened, definitely not something I set up and maybe due to apple. If you can’t refund on apple, dm the instagram and we’ll sort it out. Cheers

Amazing best app ever

Saved me form a $300 fine Thankyou to whoever created this

Tech for good😇

Why’s this in the top paid chart tho, I don’t remember having to pay for this (would

good idea, love checking out all the beautiful wildlife.

probably shouldn’t have immutable email notif/ advertising for your other app on an otp, or at least something less loud on the screen, would make the ux that tad bit nicer. Otherwise a clever app that relies on a nice community of ppl. gj!

oh and also haps having the public transport (filter/layer?) active on the interface for apple maps would be helpful if possible.

i’m writing too much but also considering the cost of running this service and without ads seems to be fair, as it is practically cost effective.

Used to be a great app

For an app to be reliant on user contributions and then have the audacity to switch to a paid model is not a good look on the developers. They can justify it however they want to themselves but I won’t be falling for it.

Great but greedy

This app is a great idea and was super useful for a few weeks, when it was free to use. Now, the pricetag has caused significantly less people to actively use the app which has reduced the prevalence of people reporting problems. The app should have been taken to an ad-supported model instead of an upfront payment, given that the entire content of the app is completely reliant on user submissions.

Response from developer

Hey! PTV alert consistently gets >600 reports per day, which has actually increased since we added the $2 price tag. It may be that you’re traveling during quiet times for alerts. We hope you can understand that the price tag is necessary to cover the operating costs of hosting this app. Thanks for your feedback!

Very useful app

Help me navigate through city without hassles

Easy to use

Hope that more people know about this app

Good but one problem

everything works as intended but adding way to select a route (like a train line or station ) could be a gamechanger

Lifesaver

5 bucks is wayyyy too expensive for dog repellent so this app is an absolute necessity

A must have for any Melburnian

Crafted by a fed-up commuter for fellow sufferers, PTVAlert marks out timely “wildlife” alerts, because not all creatures roaming the train network deserve your fare.

In a cost-of-living crisis, this app is less rebellion, more survival instinct. A must-have for any discerning Melburnian who knows when to stay low and move fast.

The hero we needed

The dev is basically Batman, protecting us from the dogs lurking in the shadows. A true vigilante hero, saving wallets and keeping society running smoothly.

Not work :(

I don’t see any alerts on the map recently

Lost animals

This app supplies such a useful utility to report on any lost dogs roaming the public transport system

Really helpful

Surprisingly helpful really useful, I hope more people use and submit!

Tram hero

The app we have all been waiting for.

Absolutely amazing

Saved me today on the Train heading to work, someone had reported wild life at the station, and I’m severely allergic to dogs 🙏🙏

Beautiful design and runs smoothly

Well-designed especially with the app logo. The tram system always has delays on the tracks, so it’s handy to see what’s ahead when i’m stuck in the tram.
