About
Photograph any meal — or scan the barcode — and get an instant read on what actually drives heart risk: saturated fat, trans fat and sugar. Every meal gets an A–E Heart Grade, and Pulse names the nutrient that earned it.
• Snap a meal — point the camera, that's the whole log
• Scan a barcode — reads the manufacturer's real label instead of guessing
• Heart Grade A–E — with the reason behind the grade, not just a letter
• Heart-first — saturated fat, trans fat and sugar, not just calories
• Cooking method — pan-fried in butter is not the same meal as grilled
• Processing level — from whole foods through to ultra-processed
• Honest about gaps — if a label never declared its sugar, Pulse says "not declared" rather than counting it as zero
• Fiber and sodium tracked too, both feeding your Heart Grade
• Daily heart score — one number for the day, against your own limits
• Trends — see your fats and sugar week over week
• Widgets & Live Activity — your score on the Home and Lock Screen
• Private by design — your data stays on your device, no account required

A nudge on the evenings that would actually help: If your score is still low at 6pm and you're short of your exercise goal, Pulse suggests a short walk. It only fires on days when logged food genuinely cost you points — never on a quiet day — and it withdraws itself if the day recovers. It follows the reminder switch you already have in Settings. Celebrate a hearty meal: Log a meal that grades an A or a B and we will celebrate with you. We love your suggestions: Settings now has Feedback & Feature Requests, so when something is wrong or absent, please let us know directly!
