About
PupQuiet keeps noise-scared dogs calm during movies, shows and fireworks season. It listens for thunder, fireworks, gunfire and explosions on your TV and quiets your speaker or TV in a split second, then brings the sound back when the boom has passed.
HOW IT WORKS
Put your iPhone or iPad near the TV and tap Start protecting. PupQuiet listens for boom sounds using Apple's on-device sound recognition. When one plays, it mutes or lowers your speaker or TV over your home Wi-Fi, usually in well under a tenth of a second after it decides, and turns the sound back on after a few quiet seconds.
WORKS WITH
• Sonos speakers and soundbars
• LG webOS TVs
• Roku TVs and players
• Google TV, Chromecast and Cast-enabled speakers
• Denon and Marantz (HEOS), Yamaha MusicCast, Bluesound and NAD (BluOS), Onkyo, Pioneer and Integra receivers, Bose SoundTouch
• Many Samsung and Sony TVs and other UPnP renderers
• Other apps on this iPhone or iPad
Don't see yours? Ask for it right in the app.
LEARNS YOUR HOME
• It learns how loud your room usually is, so it works across the room or right by the TV.
• If it ever quiets something that wasn't a boom, tap "Not a boom" and it will ignore sounds like that from then on.
• If it misses one, tap "A boom just played" and it becomes a little more sensitive.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Sound is analysed on your device and is never recorded or uploaded.
• No account, no ads, no tracking.
• Your history and what PupQuiet learns stay on your device.
YOUR SETTINGS
Mute or lower the volume, how sure it should be, how long to stay quiet, and an optional fast reaction that dips the volume the instant a sudden loud sound starts.
FREE
PupQuiet is free with no ads. If it helps your pet, an optional tip in Settings keeps it that way. Tips unlock nothing extra.
