Pure Bible Search

Compare a verse with other versions. Turn on "Compare with other versions" under Settings, Display, and a small button appears before the verse number in the reader. Tap it and that verse opens on kjvcompare.com in your browser, set beside the other translations, so the King James reading can be checked against them and the app is one tap away when you come back. The button appears only on verses that site has a page for, so it never leads nowhere. Off by default. Gematria, under every verse and every search term. Tap a search result for its counts and, beneath the letters, vowels and consonants, the sheet gives the verse's ordinal gematria (a = 1 through z = 26) and its reverse (z = 1 through a = 26). Each occurrence of the search gets the same three lines for the words it matched, and so does a word tapped while reading. The details sheet reads more plainly. It is headed "Ruth 4:17 word 33", or "(2x) Genesis 1:27 word 4,12" when a verse holds the search twice, and each occurrence is "Word 14 "Jesus Christ"", numbered only when there is a second to tell it from. The details sheet now copies exactly what it shows. Press Copy and the paste reads as the screen does: the same headings, the thousands separators, the arithmetic beside a named number, the gematria lines. It used to paste the Book, Chapter and Verse block twice and garble the heading of each occurrence. Go to the Nth. Every count on the details sheet can be tapped: "7,208 of 31,102 of Bible" opens a prompt already filled in, and typing 15551 shows "Psalms 103:1" before you go. Which verse is the 15,551st of the Bible, which chapter the 666th, which word the 400,000th, within the whole Bible, a testament, a book or a chapter. Go opens the reader there, with the word lit when you counted words. Move. A compass on the reader's bar counts from the verse at the top of the screen: back or forward, so many words, verses, chapters or books, and the answer as you type it: "147 verses before Psalms 103:1 is Psalms 91:8". "From here next" counts on from the answer. The word sheet can move from an exact word. A move counts flips, not places, and starts at the start of the unit it moves by, so five books back from Revelation 12:6 is 2 Peter 1:1. Clear search is on the toolbar, and the reader's bar keeps Move and Display, with Emphasized words and Copy chapter behind its menu.
