Update. Premium finally back after a few months
My premium features were gone from January to May, now finally back! Thanks Igor!
I have loved this app, Optimal Tilt, and found it very useful in adjusting my ground mounted solar panel’s angle each month in order to have the best production.
However, when I just opened the app, it now only shows the optimal annual tilt! This ruins the whole point of the app! Before, I could depend on the app to tell me the optimal tilt for any month, day, and even the hour during any given day! Now, it is useless!
I only gave my previous review 3 stars, because even though I paid for a lifetime license, it still showed ads, and not all features were showing.
But it’s fixed! All is now well, no ads, and everything is working like it’s supposed to. For anyone with a solar system, especially with an adjustable ground mounted rack, or who is contemplating a new system and wanting to know what angle will work best for each month, day, or even hour, this app is really great! Yet very simple to use! A very worthwhile app to have!

Premium upgrade is worthless. Don’t pay for it
Got taken by this unscrupulous developer. Paid for the premium to get the daily recommendation Tried deleting and reinstalling and resetting the internet connection but the app still asks to be paid.
Update to my previous 3 star review
Igor is the best! I discovered an issue with the app not showing more than just basic yearly information, even though I have the lifetime premium version, and contacted him about it. He got back to me the same day with a few questions which I answered. The next day he emailed me to let me know it was fixed and to be sure I had version 19.0. I updated it, and viola! It’s now working! A one day turn around and resolution! Igor is the best!

But after doing so, I noticed that it appeared that there must be some kind of temporary glitch going on. And then very quickly Igor emailed me to try to resolve what’s going on. That says a lot, because any product or app is bound to have an issue now and then. But what makes a successful company, product, or app, is those who not only stand behind the app, but are quick to respond, as Igor is doing. So I have restored my 5 star rating. Here’s hoping we can get this resolved soon.

Incorrect tilt angle calculations
If you submit a location like Aleppo in Syria, it says the tilt angle should be 0 while it should be 9 to 10 ideally
Daily Angle is not correct
Today is May 5 in San Carlos, CA. I queried three solar tilt applications go determine the optimal tilt angle to set my portable panels to today.
Tilt (this app) says 12 degrees
Sun Seeker says 21 degrees
Simply Solar says 20 degrees
Tilt (this app) says 12 degrees

Always tells me to tilt my panel AWAY from the sun.

Unfortunately, doesn’t calculations correctly when locations are south of equator.
There is no tutorial
I’m sure the app works great but the ui is not straightforward and there’s no explanation to how to actually use this app in relation to solar systems. As a complete beginner it is pretty useless.
Paid the lifetime fee for…. Nothing I guess
The app is still showing me annul only even though I paid for the day/hourly….. I finally got to try my first pair of 180 watt solar panels in series today and sadly a pop can was what I had to rely on after purchasing this app thinking I was “smart”. I’ve opened and closed the app several times and nothing just annul only… I only bought for hourly for camping but looks like I was robbed . Now I can’t find anywhere to get a refund and apple says the app doesnit have a receipt…. Well it sure gone from my bank…. Thanks optimal tilt.. for nothing

Paid to upgrade and made no difference
I wanted the daily and hourly feature, so I paid to upgrade this app. Despite exiting the app and restarting this app several times, as recommended by the dev in another review, my upgraded features are still not working. Waste of money.

Very handy with one big flaw
This app is tremendous but the one big flaw is that the time for the daily or hourly angle is not local but rather is set for Switzerland. It would be nice if they could set it to show based on my local time instead of me having to do math. Otherwise, it is great.
Paid for Daily & Hourly upgrade but it didn’t work
I read the developers response to another person who had the same problem. After stopping the app and restarting it a few times the extra cost features (daily & hourly angles) began to work.
The next day the same problem returned and after restarting the program twice, it still would not prove the daily or hourly tilt angle.

Doesn’t work
App froze up after I purchased the license, none of the features (daily, hourly) seem to work, and I can’t change the location. Seems like a good idea but broken

Super handy
Hey, thanks for making the app. It appears that when I use the inclinometer I have to reverse the angle (says 28 degrees, but I need to put it at -28 degrees) also would be cool to have the current best angle in the inclinometer as well as the yearly best angle (planning to use this to help set up solar panel at campsite optimally).
