What's New in PyNav

1.4

August 18, 2026

Auto Tack (beta) Tack with a single tap. PyNav works out which way you're tacking from the apparent wind angle and heel, and asks you if it can't tell for sure. The usual cancelable countdown still applies before the helm moves, so you keep the finalsay. Marked beta while it gets time on the water — read the one-time warning before your first tack. Device GPS fallback No GPS on your NMEA network? PyNav now falls back to your iPhone or iPad's own GPS for position, COG and SOG, and shows a DEVICE GPS badge so you always know where the fix is coming from. It switches back automatically as soon as NMEA GPS data appears. Stability Fixed a crash that could occur when pypilot reported non-numeric IMU values.
