Suggestions for Potential Downloaders

Juno is one of the most elegant IDEs I have ever encountered - second only to IDLE or Sublime Text. However, using an iPhone to do coding on Juno won’t release the full potential of this app since editing and debugging on a small touchscreen is not efficient. But if you’re using an iPad, especially a 13-inch model? Pretend I haven’t said anything yet.

Excellent tool!!! This review is for 4.3.2

I love Juno!!! This is one of the best tools in the App Store. I recently experienced performance issues with the previous release. I contacted the Juno team with sample performance data. They replied right away, fixed the issue and to my pleasure I downloaded the new update today from the App Store and my code flies. Great app, great team behind it, definitely five stars. Thank you!

It’s fine but the UX is the worst

Terrible keyboard shortcuts. No vim mode. It’s honestly just awful to work with. Skip it. Use a laptop.

Can’t use Plotly Dash no more

Would appreciate you fixing whatever’s missing that dash doesn’t run anymore

Hi 👋—please reach out to help@juno so that I can investigate this further. Thanks!

👋 Hey—you only pay once; everyone who had ever purchased any version of Juno previously should have all paid features unlocked for free. If this didn’t happen automatically please reach out to help@juno.sh and I’ll take a look.

Worth every penny - now supports Claude, Codex and OpenCode

Now works with your AI subscriptions, including Claude, Codex and OpenCode (and anything with compatible API), brilliant thank you! Previous review from 2025: I got this for arbitrary precision maths using mpmath (and SymPy) and it’s great, worth every penny. Only certain libraries are available because of the locked-down iOS platform, but that includes lots of favourites. This sole developer is doing a superb job!

Thank you for your kind words! Please ping me at beta@juno.sh, I'm currently testing more AI providers options on TestFlight, and Juno will gain its own agentic harness too in one of the next updates. 😉

Worth every penny - needs OpenCode AI!

AI integration would be much better with more model support, eg OpenCode. Cell Output Plots

Worth the $40 to use this app. However with latest builds, clicking cell output with plots doesn’t use screen wisely. on 12.9 in ipad, it pops up a 400 x 400 window that takes up less 25% of screen width and height. Zooming is awkward to use. Until developers fix, i’m going use my laptop

Positively answered a long time search of mine

Yes, I had been searching for an app that would give a CAS, a programming language and the possibility of porting my files to my macbook.
I tryed several until I found python in ios.
I took some time until I decided to give juno a try. I am very satisfied.
The package numpy sometimes gets unload by the OS,as explained by the developer, but I can manage.
The developer even answers our questions, which is nice!

Amazing!

I’ve used Juno for years and am so happy to shout out these developers. There is consistent support and updates to the app and to the underlying libraries. Juno is actually my main daily Jupyter notebook and code editor. It’s amazing to have it available wherever I am and I can achieve so much with it. The most recent updates have been even more of a game changer. With projects and AI assistants, as well as full utilization of background processes, there is so much more that can be done. Worth every penny. Please keep up the great work and great support!

Amazing Python/Jupyter on iPad

I could never imagine one day I can lie on sofa to script Python. Now I did it with this wonderful App :)

Great app

I really like the app, it is probably the best way to do Jupyter on the Ipad.

💝

Juno is the best.

Nice to have Jupyter notebooks on my iPad

Overall the running of Python scripts and Jupyter notebooks works very well. In fact, the app would be worth the money just for the Jupyter notebooks. However, the user experience for me was a bit of a let down. I keep getting little problems like auto indents going to the wrong place, eapecially after two finger cursor moving gestures over the keyboard, and sometimes the cursor going off a few lines when I tap to place the cursor, which require me to exit and reopen the app. Plus navigating back to the project/file list can be unintuitive and frustrating especially in portrait view (perhaps because I have an iPad Mini). I do like this app though, I just think the dev could spend a bit more time coding with it so it becomes a bit more polished.

Hi 👋, quick follow-up: Juno 4 is out now, and a good deal of what you ran into has been reworked—the editor, the workspace and moving between files. Worth another look and if anything still feels rough, please ping me at help@juno.sh. Thanks for the detailed feedback! 😇

Great app

Overall this is a great app. Opening files however is more confusing than it should be, however. For some reason tapping on a file on iPad only previews it, and for some reason the preview is always wrap rather narrowly so that there’s up to 10-20% of nothing but wasted whitespace on the right. Actually opening files results it different kinds of editors: code files get a full screen editor with a collapsible console sidebar. But text files confusingly only get a modal popup up. I understand why notebooks are somewhat different, but overall the app would be far less confusing if I could 1) actually just open files by tapping on them instead getting a useless narrow preview, and 2) just use the same editor for text and code files. Text files could just have certain toolbar items disabled. Also, I often would want to use the console or a Python terminal while viewing a text file, as some text files are actuall CSV files that I’m manipulating. The UIs in Pythonista amd Pyto are much more intuitive , but sadly development has seemed to stall for both. I’d love to replace them with Juno, but the UI needs work.
