User reviews

Great, but no packages

So I like to code with python in my free time and most of my code includes packages. I do not earn money, so I can’t afford a subscription so I can get packages. I also checked the package library and it seems like a lot of the packages I use aren’t there, like sounddevice, pyttsx3, etc. overall, though, this app is good for basic python without packages.

FAQ

What can I do with this Python programming interpreter app?

This app allows you to write, compile, and run Python code directly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. It's ideal for learning the language, testing code snippets, and even working on small to large-scale projects. You can also utilize features like syntax highlighting, code completion, and access to thousands of packages.

What are the key features of the Python Programming Interpreter app?

Key features include the ability to compile and run your programs, support for plotting and graphing, viewing program output or detailed errors, and selecting/running specific code chunks. It also offers an advanced source code editor with syntax highlighting and code completion, a custom keyboard for easier input, and the capability to open, save, import, and share Python files.

How does the app handle pricing and subscriptions?

The app is free to use with an option to upgrade to a Premium Membership via subscription. The premium membership removes ads, provides unlimited plots, allows package installation, and ensures access to the latest interpreters. Payments are charged to your iTunes account, and subscriptions can be canceled at any time.

What are the limitations of the free version of this app?

The free version requires an internet connection for compilation, has a maximum program running time of 20 seconds, and allows only one file to be run at a time. Some file system, network, and graphics functions may also be limited. It functions as a batch compiler, meaning interactive programs with input prompts require input to be entered in the Input tab before compilation.

Is this app compatible with all Python versions and packages?

The app aims to provide access to thousands of packages and allows for the installation of additional packages. However, limitations may exist for certain file system, network, and graphics functions. The premium subscription ensures access to the latest interpreters, suggesting ongoing updates to compatibility.
