Use to work, and now it’s dead
I used it for years. The latest versions broke the app somehow and it won’t connect to the NAS. QVIDEO works just fine and I can’t find any issues on the QNAP to cause this.

Recent Update interrupts downloads
The recent update does several things creating problems with downloads. There is no longer any clocking or status indicator of any type that downloads are in progress. When downloading multiple selected items the download will just stop without notice… please review and fix so that I can post an adjusted review.

Big ugly blue bar
This app forces you into slideshow mode when you try to browse any photo. When you share the screen it overlays a blue bar on top of every photo. Incredibly frustrating to try and use.
Junk
Navigation is horrible, not consistent with functions in Photo Station, what a disaster.

Not Working
This is the only app from Q suite of apps that does not log into my device. Do not know what is wrong with it? I tried uninstall and install back but without luck
Needs HEIC/HEIF support
The app and QNAP server needs HEIC support. Mac supports it. Windows supports it. Why not a media server to serve multimedia needs.
Doesn’t really work. Not reliable
Hasn’t worked properly for a while now. Takes ages to process images. Better using auto upload feature in Qfile
Thank you QNAP
I’m not sure why there’s so many low ratings. I see folks complaining about accesss to their qnap server outside their network. This seems to work fine for me. I set mine up with qnapcloud ID and I made sure use The qnap app CloudLink to update my route to include port forwarding rules to allow internet access to my server.
Overall I have to say it’s a fantastic app and overall great experience on my new Qnap server

Many problems
I have had to call QNAP support numerous times trying to simply update a new NAS and that took two phone calls. Support prefers to log in and do things themselves and sometimes it conflicts with another support tech previous mess.
After QNAP tried to remote access my NAS by opening up proper ports all failed. I called my ISP and they opened up ports, ports were also open up Google Mesh (router) and QNAP still couldn’t connect to NAS.
Browser, Apps none of it works. I’ll return it to store and look for another NAS brand.
Update:
After hours researching and looking over every aspect in settings I figured it out. Ports defaulted incorrectly. 8080/8081 and 8081 was the culprit! 8081 was changed to correct, 8080. Another problem when using all QNAP app it takes multiple different login’s to begin using each app/NAS applications. That’s totally nail biting frustrating, because it seems theirs a trigger that presents login opportunity from the cloud-side itself within each app. Y’all developers really need to WAKE UP simplify this process cutting down steps. The worse thing about QNAP is their keyboard function with 2FA = crazy, thoughtless mind binding.... Google AUTH only provides seconds before changing code; however, within each QNAP app you must tap 1,2,3 numbers key on keyboard next to ‘space bar’ then tap number..... understand! Your doing this for every field! You gotta have a good memory and be super fast with keyboard. Not even Binance or any other 2FA I’ve experienced is this cumbersome as QNAP. It’ll make you hate life.
Qnote3 app never updates. Uninstalled/reinstalled still it doesn’t update making it useless. Good luck with updates.
My experience, QNAP IOS apps are thee worse when it comes to using their NAS. Nothing about any of them are intuitive. If QNAP in some way could make their NAS Server default to outside 3rd party app/software easily with simplified login with better 2FA process I could fall in love using it.

Lots of shortcomings
The app constantly disconnects in the middle of browsing folders, even on superb WiFi
If there are a lot of photos on the box, when opening up the app, it takes over 30 seconds before it times out trying to show shared photos. You then have to go and manually select folders and navigate to your photos if you want to see them. Very annoying.
When you’re browsing folders, and want to get back, the app resets you to the beginning of the folder list. If you have hundreds of folders, going back means you have to scroll back down to where you just were, periodically being interrupted by loading messages that takes 3-5 seconds.
