What's New in QRLume

27.0

October 7, 2026

The first update since 1.0, and a substantial one. • Analysis runs on the symbol's own bytes, so the hex dump, entropy and checks describe what was really encoded. • Verdicts now state their scope — what each check examined, and what it could not. • Exhibits carry a full provenance block, and imported files are hashed. • Reduce Motion is now an in-app setting; VoiceOver and text contrast reworked throughout. • The report now requires Forensic Pro. Scanning is unchanged and still logged; 1.0 consumer unlock buyers keep full access.

Proper Review

QRLume is a really well-designed QR code scanner with a strong focus on privacy and security. I like that it gives you more insight into what a QR code contains instead of simply opening a link without knowing where it leads. The app feels clean, straightforward, and easy to use, while also offering useful features for anyone who wants a little more protection when scanning QR codes.

It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into both the functionality and the privacy side of the app. Definitely worth checking out if you want a smarter and more secure QR scanner!

Stopped in its tracks

Saw a suss QR code on the parking meter. Turns out I was right.

Necessary for protecting yourself!

I’d read about people slapping fake QR codes over real ones. I always figured I’d notice it was fake. I scanned a meter downtown, and QRLume showed me a destination that had nothing to do with the city’s payment system. The URL was in another country. What sold me is all the information in the forensics report. I use it for menus, packages, event tickets, anything with a code on it now. It’s also great that you can log your scans.
