QuakeCheck brings worldwide USGS earthquake data to your iPhone with a clear map, location-aware notifications, and official post-event resources. MONITOR WHAT MATTERS • Explore recently reported earthquakes on an interactive, color-coded map and list • Monitor your current position or save places anywhere in the world • Choose a search radius from 50 to 500 km • Filter by magnitude and depth, and switch between metric and imperial units MAKE ALERTS YOURS • Receive push notifications for newly reported earthquakes near monitored locations • Give each saved location its own radius, minimum magnitude, active status, and quiet-hour policy • Use Alert Status to check notification permission, push connection, monitored locations, and USGS feed freshness • Send a real end-to-end test notification • M6+ notifications can use Apple’s Time Sensitive delivery when enabled UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED • See magnitude, depth, distance, bearing, time, and event status • View estimated shaking at your selected location from USGS ShakeMap data when available • Follow retained magnitude revisions and cautiously labeled nearby activity • Open the official USGS event page and Did You Feel It reports when available • Access Ready.gov safety guidance and tsunami.gov for flagged events • Share an event or send a personal check-in PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking • Location and notifications are optional • Delete server-held notification and saved-location data from Settings • Available in English, Spanish, and Japanese QuakeCheck uses worldwide USGS Earthquake Hazards Program data. QuakeCheck 1.3 makes earthquake alerts more transparent, personal, and useful after an event. • New Alert Status shows notification permission, push connection, monitored locations, and USGS feed freshness. • Send a real end-to-end test notification through QuakeCheck’s server and Apple Push Notification service. • Give each saved location its own radius, minimum magnitude, active status, and quiet-hour rules. • See estimated shaking at your selected location from USGS ShakeMap data when available. • Follow preliminary or reviewed event status, magnitude revisions, and nearby activity without overstating USGS classifications. • Open official USGS felt reports, Ready.gov safety guidance, tsunami information when relevant, and sharing or check-in actions. • Significant M6+ notifications use Apple’s Time Sensitive delivery when enabled. • Full Spanish and Japanese interface and localized push notifications. • Added iOS 17 support, accessibility improvements, and reliability fixes. QuakeCheck is an informational tool, not an emergency alert or earthquake early warning system.
