Better than Block Out

This game is a GREAT version of “Block Out” (I still have this game on a Sega Genesis cartridge). I have been waiting for someone to bring this classic back to my iPhone. It took me a minute or two before I realized that you can rotate and move the pieces WITHOUT the “joysticks” on either side of the drop field. Playing the game in the Zen mode allowed me to master manipulating the shapes. Great game. Thanks to the developers.

Response from developer

So, another Blockout fan! The fact that I could not find anything like this on the app store either was the reason to start this project :-) Thanks for the great feedback.

Update: Freezes on load screen both ios 12 and 13 every time

iOS 12.2 on a 2nd gen iPad Pro.

Freezes on load screen and says loading sounds at bottom of screen.

Could you please fix.

Thank you.

Very interested in playing.

Update: tried on my other ipad pro running ios 13
also Freezes on load screen EVERY TIME!, just like ios 12.

Response from developer

Thanks for reporting the issue. Indeed we found problem on iOS 14 and less. The issue has been fixed in version 1.0.6.

Very cool take on a block puzzler

I dig the graphics, definitely has the old cabinet arcade game Tempest vibe to it, especially the 3d playfield.

Three suggestions

1. Add a color blind mode option. Maybe have numerals show the corresponding level number on top of each block. Sometimes it’s a bit difficult to clearly discern what levels you’re looking down at. This would be fantastic.

2. The ability to rotate the 3d block pile around in 3d space. This would help with strategic planning.

3. Portrait mode! Playing with one thumb would be epic.

Overall great game and cheap enough to remove ads. Hopefully more people come across it. The AppStore is such a jungle these days I’m surprised I stumbled upon it. Best of luck.

Response from developer

Thanks for the great review. It feels good to see that all the work was not in vain. About your suggestions: Can't promise but let's see what's possible.  1. Should be easy.  2. A little more difficult.  3. You can already play one-thumb on iPhone models with 3d touch: Hold the phone in portrait (ignore the controls and that the text is still landscape). Touch the white wireframe block to move/rotate it: Force-touch-and-drag = shift (same as right sphere control). Soft-touch-and-drag = rotate about x/y (same as left sphere control). Touch-next-to-block-and-drag = rotate z (same as wheel control). The reason why it's not advertised is that we think the virtual controllers are way more fast and precise, especially in the faster levels. Note: Force-touch (or as Apple names it: "3d touch") was only available on iPhone models 8 to XS. You still may have to enable it under Settings > Accessibility > Touch. On all other devices you use two-finger-drag instead in order to shift the block. Obviously, this is not exactly one-thumb any more. If more players want a real one-thumb mode we might have to think of a suitable alternative for iPhone 11 and newer.   Contact support@tlogic.de for further discussion. Thanks!
