Hard Paywall
As soon as I downloaded the app, picked my character name and class, I immediately hit a hard paywall. It’s a 7 day free trial and then $6.99 per month, with no real free version to continue using.
The concept is actually really cool, especially being able to passively track steps with an Apple Watch and have that contribute to an RPG character. Unfortunately, I’m not paying a monthly subscription just to use it. The App Store listing made it look like a free app with optional in app purchases, so I was disappointed to find out that the actual game is locked behind a subscription almost immediately.
Great idea, but I wish there was a legitimate free tier with optional cosmetic purchases instead of a mandatory subscription

Thank you for trying Quest: Level Up and for the honest feedback. I'm glad you like the concept of the app. This app is currently built and run by just me, and the subscription is what lets me keep building new dungeons, classes, seasonal events and regular updates. My next update will include a clearer description of the free trial and pricing. As a small app with only one other review, a 2-star rating, even an honest one, has a big impact. Thank you again for giving it a try.
