Meaningful conversations

I recently observed that a lot of my time in conversation with friends and family tends to revolve around grousing about work and talking about daily trivialities. A pessimistic mood would descend, and I felt worse afterward when I realized our precious time together had been wasted in a negative loop.

I downloaded this app, and it felt cheesy at first to pull it out, but we’ve had some of the best conversations of our lives because of these simple questions. It doesn’t feel cheesy anymore to make the choice to steer our conversation to happier, more fulfilling topics that foster greater connection.

The most precious and memorable conversation arose from the question, “What is a small act of kindness you will always remember?” We talked for two hours at cafe tables on the sidewalk and felt joyful and deeply connected to one another as we shared precious memories that healed our hearts.

Thank you for this app. It’s one of just a few that has actually changed my life.

I’m loving it!

Simple to use and crisp, this tool can be used for any gathering at home, work and school.

Great app for conversation

It honestly is a good app. I use it when I stream and want to know more about my chat. I do wish there was an update with more questions though.

Jesusy

The aesthetic seemed nice until the religious and Christian-coded questions came up, and I realized half the backgrounds are Bibles and church congregations. Not philosophical, just Christian.

Not useful offline

I bought this app to use while camping with friends and family but I can’t get it to work when I don’t have service, so it’s not very useful to me. I’d love to get this issue resolved!

Great tool for counseling

I am on our church counseling team, and have begun integrating this app as part of the weekly “homework” for couples who have been struggling with communication. It’s a very non-threatening way for couples to bridge the communications gap by exploring topics they may never have discussed before. The topic level allows for the user to choose how deep they are willing to go, and also challenges users to examine their own hearts and motives. My counselees also report that this app has not only helped them, but has become an enjoyable exercise to stay connected.

Great for conversations

I really loved this app. I thought it did really well in giving different categories of questions that you could ask at different points in your relationships/ friendships. I loved reading through the questions as well. And you can save the ones you really like to a folder of it’s own.

So cool

Coming up with good questions on the spot is hard. A great tool for building deeper relationships.

Religious: be warned

I thought this was an app to help families get to know each other better. If you are not religious be warned that this is a religious app intended to sell you Bibles and Jesus, which is fine if you’re religious but sneaky if you’re not.

Great app!

Great app! It can either be a wonderful conversation starter, a way to get to know one another if just meeting someone, or a great way to have fun with family and friends! I highly recommend this app if you looking for something like I have described above. :)

Great conversation-starter when things get boring!!!

And great icebreaker tool, too!!!

Great App!

Very simple, well designed, but fun app! Used it with my family at the dinner table and with my friends!

Great Questions

Great for date night or family meals. Love it.

Needed

We are more connected to each other now through devices than at any other time in human history. Yet, never has the sense of isolation and loneliness been so palpable. This app pushes back and provides a simple and effective way to get a conversation going with another soul.

To quote CS Lewis: "There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations — these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously — no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption."

This app is a needed help in our quest to take others seriously.

Fun and effective

The app follows through on its description. Fun and easy to use with nothing inappropriate. Truly good and funny questions that enable you to generate effective conversation.

Great app!

A great app to use! Its really helpful to start a conversation! I love it! Great idea guys!

Awesome App!!!

The great thing about this APP is that it brings people together, allowing them to communicate verbally in a fun, interactive way. Whether in a group setting or one-on-one, this APP is sure to spark conversation and generate "small talk" that could lead to deeper discussions of family & faith!!

Useful and thought provoking app...

Overall, pretty well done. Some of the questions may not seem authentic, especially if asked with the wrong inflection. The 'Big Picture' questions are very well done and thought provoking.
