Not easy to connect

Hi, unfortunately it’s not easy to connect to the device to do the reset. I followed the instructions and placed my phone over the device for several minutes, again and again, with no luck… may be an update is needed? Last one seems 2 years ago. Thanks for your feedback and help on this.
