A timer that asks for nothing

About
A meditation timer made to be opened once, then left alone.
You set it up the first time you open the app. After that, the app is mostly closed. Sessions begin from the Lock Screen, from Dynamic Island, from a Home Screen widget, from a Lock Screen accessory. When the timer is running, it lives on the outside of the phone — a quiet ring around the corner of the camera, a number on the Lock Screen, a still circle filling the screen in StandBy. The app itself you may not see again for weeks.
This is the point.
Quiet is for people who already know why they meditate. There are no guides, no voices, no courses, no music. There is no library to browse. There is nothing to subscribe to. There are no streaks, no statistics, no graphs of your practice. There is no account. The app does not ask you to share, to rate, to come back tomorrow.
A session has a length, and an ending sound. You choose between Singing Bowl, Bell, Gong, or Tone. The session ends. That is the whole feature list.
Presets of five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and thirty minutes are available from the medium widget — one tap starts. The small widget repeats your last session. The Lock Screen accessories — circular and rectangular — start your last session from the locked phone. While a session runs, Dynamic Island shows a countdown ring; pause and stop are available there and on the Lock Screen. In StandBy, the timer fills the horizontal screen, large enough to see across a room.
The visual register is dark, warm, analog. Near-black background, a single warm gold accent. Serif typography. Nothing flashes, nothing animates more than it needs to.
Quiet is a one-time purchase. It does not collect data. It does not require an account. It does not send notifications, except the gentle sound at the end of the session you started.
If this sounds like less than you wanted, it probably is. There are excellent apps for guided practice, for habit tracking, for sleep stories, for community. Quiet is none of those. It is a quiet instrument for a practice you already have.
Open once. Configure. Close.
