Too much effort

This app has very little community content and hardly any fabrics. The time it takes to load the fabric a line is time consuming and painstaking. The creative side is unnecessary complex, non intuitive, and again…. Waste of time and energy. Maybe it’s some people’s jam… but for a paid app…. It’s not mine. Much better options… heck using excel is easier than this app.

Subscriber opening page

Why does it always open to a page asking me to subscribe when I’m subscribed and there’s no way past this page other than to completely back out of the app and start again a couple times.

A quilters must have!

This is a FANTASTIC app for quilters of all levels!! Whether you want to see what your Log Cabin blocks will look like before you start cutting the new fabric you bought, or need a little inspiration for a new quilt, Quilter 3 can do it all! Design your own quilt using the standard size templates, or choose your own block sizes and number of columns and rows. When you’ve finished designing your quilt the built-in calculator will show you how much of each fabric you’ll need - which is great if you’re using already bought material, but aren’t sure if you have enough.

There’s a nice library of fabrics that continues to grow as users upload their own (which is super easy!), as well as a great library of ‘cuts’ that you apply to the blocks in your grid, and then ‘paint’ with the fabric you choose.

The video tutorials are very good, but if there’s anything you can’t figure out (like me!), you can contact the developer in the Support area, and he gets back to you quickly to help with any issue you may have.

If you need a little inspiration, look through the quilts that users have shared to the Community Library. If you see one you like, but want to see what your own fabric/color combinations would look like, just click on it, scroll down and click Import to Your Library, where you can click on it to load it into your work area, choose the Paint tool, and then choose Paint Replace, then below that slide the ‘Preserve: Cut’ to On, and you’re ready to go!

Let your kids/grandkids design a quilt, and then surprise them with ‘the real thing’ as a gift that they’ll treasure! So much fun!!

The app generally does require a commitment to a 7 day trial to use the design features and publishing features however it is completely free and if the purchase is cancelled within 7 days you aren’t charged! So helpful for quilt planning!

This app is seriously awesome. Quilter 3 makes designing quilts and figuring out fabric yardage so much easier. I love being able to see my quilt layout with real fabric patterns and know exactly how much fabric I need before I start cutting. The fabric calculator is super accurate and saves me from overbuying (or worse… running out). I use this every time I plan a new project.

Bait and switch

This is listed as a free app, but once I downloaded it and created my account, I was sent to a subscription screen with no way to close it. Apparently this app requires a subscription to use. That should be made clear from the get-go.

Hi there! The app description before you download it explains that a free trial is offered and subscription required. Because the app allows for community sharing the best way to ensure content shared is relevant and not spammed is to require a subscription but allow for a free trial. That way you can use the app for free to test it but also requires individual responsibility so shared content is tied to accounts that have a vested interest. I do appreciate your feedback, I will make it more clear in the description of the app prior to downloading that a trial or subscription is required to access the apps features. Best Chris

Incredible

I used Quiltler 2 and it was good but had quite a few issues. This version just seems to solve all those. The team has really stepped up their game on this version. I’m loving how simple it is to design and iterate on my designs. I also love that this syncs between my iPhone and my iPad (Quiltler 2 didn’t do that)

The fabric calculator works really well, Quiltler 2 didn’t have one of those. I love that it creates a shopping list and I can input prices to get a good estimate on the cost of a full project. I could go on
