Works!

Works well on my Trumpet, 95% as happy as the Boss pedals I’ve been using for 25 years, with a little Tweaking of my tone Pre and Post this plug in I might get it to 100%.
One thing that’s killing me though is I can set a Wholetone scale or Locrian but not just a Pentatonic (or even better a 6 note scale like Dm with no 6th, C major with no 7th) which is literally 100million times more useful in almost all western music. If I find a Harmoniser with custom scales or where I can map individual response for each note I play I’ll have to swap to it but would love to stick with this.

No Chromatic Pitch Shift

Just purchased this and am mad! I should have read the reviews. No chromatic pitch shift mode is available. How could you omit such a basic feature. This app is useless to me and I would like a refund.

Pitch shift quality not great

Too bad there‘s no demo for this. This effect isn‘t usable for me because the pitch shifting is pretty unstable sounding. My HX stomp does pitch fx better.

Nice, but limited use

This is a generally well designed app with very musical delay and panning options. The problem is that there is no chromatic pitch shift option. As someone who primarily improvises, this is a no-go as I’m constantly changing keys and cannot stop to think about which key I’m in to adjust QVox. Furthermore, I generally want each note to harmonize in the same way regardless of the key. 5 stars when chromatic pitch shifting is added.

Nice pitch shifter

This app offers the best tracking and lowest latency I’m aware of in IOS. It also doesn’t use too much cpu.

One of the best effects out there!

But there is one problem with cubasis. MIDI instruments get more and more latency over time. Don’t know if it’s cubasis or your plug-in. Would you mind helping Steinberg to find a solution? Or does it have nothing to do with your plugin?

Response from developer

Hey, thanks for the kind review! QVox does add some latency, but it's reported to the host (Cubasis), which should handle latency compensation. This would be something Steinberg would need to fix on their end, if they are not handling it correctly.

Lacks manual features!

This could be an amazing app but lacks some ESSENTIAL features, otherwise is fun to play to the presets but once you need to fine tune parameters these are the most important features missing:
1: Diatonic chromatic scale mode!: If you want to set specific intervals and want them to remain CONSTANT Chromatically you CAN’T do that here, say you want a 4th and a 6th above your original note and keep the same intervals chromatically, the scale you choose will keep changing the intervals... This could be resolved if this app had an option to chose “cents” for pitch shift instead of just “musical intervals”, that way I could choose to have the same exact intervals regardless of the note... A classic example for this would be trying to replicate Steve Vai’s “Ballerina 12/24”, that patch is a simple 4th and 6th above with 180 and 360 ms delay respectively on each interval BUT if you set those settings here you CAN’T play the song as Vai’s song modulates all the time and doesn’t have a root note so you’ll end up with notes changing where the intervals should remain static...

2: Independent delay times for each pitched voice: CAN’T do that here

3: Pan control for each pitched voice: CAN’T do that either, voices are always panned hard left-right

4: Saving user presets has an error where you CAN’T re-save or overwrite your presets!: If you just fine tuned your preset and want to save it it’ll ask you to save into a a DIFFERENT slot and if you use the same name it’ll still save it into a new different slot adding automatically a number so you’ll soon end up with a LONG list of repeated presets as you CAN’T erase them either!

Eventide developers: please at least reply and hopefully you can fix those bugs and improve on those simple things

Response from developer

Hi, we see you also brought this up on our forum and we've been corresponding there, but we wanted to reply here in case other users have the same requests/concerns: Your points 1, 2, and 3 are all great requests. However, this is simply not the nature of the QVox app - it was designed to be a diatonic pitch shifter based around key and scale, with a limited control set. Sorry about that. Point #4, this is something we have logged in our system and plan to address it in a future update.

Stability problem

Great idea. Would be five stars, but I t’s let down by stability issues as it stops working if left unused for more than 10 minutes and you need to close the app and restart.
When that issue is resolved it will be a 5 star app!

Update:
iPad Pro 10 running iOS 13.3.1
Fault occurs both in freestanding mode and with AUM after around 10 mins
Same fault on iPhone 6S and 6 both running iOS 13.3.1

No link for QVox support on the Eventide website.

Response from developer

Hi, sorry to hear about the issue. Please email support at eventide dot com with your version of iOS, what host app you’re using, and your buffer rate and sample size, and we’ll work to resolve the issue. Also, please make sure you have the latest updates of all apps.

Wow, low latency

I’m very impressed by the low latency processing of this effect. It’s akin to having a hardware pedal (using iPad Pro 10.5, hosting in AUM). With an audio interface, I can make a believable 12 string guitar sound (with 12 step octaves) that tracks with nearly no lag/delay, unlike some other harmonizer apps (which I also like/respect, but have more delay & stutter). Multi tonals (3rds, 5ths, 7ths) track in nearly real time as well. A really useful effect to add to your arsenal. Eventide really delivers with their iOS Auv3 effects.

Stable Pitch Shifter with Endless Possibilities

This is an absolutely beautiful effect, perfect for everything from huge octave-split lead and bass sounds to one-note chords and melodies. The fixed 100% stereo pan takes a bit of getting used to but doesn’t seem to cause phase issues if you mix to mono.

Eventide is pure quality!!!

All plugins are amazing but this is just crazy addictive!!!
Many thanks for bringing such awesome sound processors to iOS!
