Search in retro mode at its very best
Thank you for a product the humans can control, where every nuance of existence is our own and not simply another coin in the coffers of the tech bros.
Using it feels like search before it went stupid- you look up things, you get actual answers- not hyperbole, AI opinion or forced AI banter/ offers to chat more about it.
I'm 50. I use search to ask of a basic query, in hopes of a series of possible matches. As it should be. This feels more organic and useful, less product and sponsored /paid responses and more actual info with links that match, not chosen by who paid more to be ranked.

One browser feels simple uncomplicated fork of Firefox. Nearly a year, I have not been let down.
Just enjoy coming to Qwant. Every time I adventure out to test other browsers, or when Greedy browsers try hardest to make you login…I run away. I mean if you want to maximise true browsing time, you sort of want the browser to explore if possible saving all those minutes that big ad browser shuttle you back forth fill your an entire email account full of “prove it is really you”: you know the drill. Yess I have been with help of Qwant.

This is from this company’s privacy policy:
They retain the keywords entered associated with a pseudonymous (NOT ANONYMOUS) identifier calculated from the User Account data and the salted hash of your IP address for 1 month.
(Note: They were almost fined for the “pseudonymous” thing but haven’t changed since French government owns about 20% stake)
The keywords are then retained for 12 months for aggregated statistical analysis purposes. Again only pseudonymous.
Qwant can transfer the following pseudonymized data to Microsoft:
Search keywords, browser information, full IP address (they use works like “may” and “possible” of course), then salted hash generated from your IP address, User Agent, and a salt changing at least every 3 months.
Finally, as part of providing new features, Qwant shares your IP address with Microsoft to provide you with contextual ads and better search results.

App freezing
I love this app but i would like to be able to have multiple tabs without the app freezing also being able to clear history without pages signing out when clearing history otherwise it is a good app to use

The app has potential
I only wish it followed a bit more closely the Google app UX. Instead of the delete data button I'd like to have a new search button (or a new search tab being opened when I launch the app) and search results should open in a preview panel like in the G. app that then becomes a tab after the user interacts with it. Search results are ok to good and presented nicely from a visual / clarity perspective
