Good idea. Poor performance.
I liked the idea of it so gave it a go. Constantly says I used phone when it is on the passenger seat or in console locked and closed in a wallet case. Don’t go around a roundabout or you will be told off for harsh driving no matter how slow you go.
Waste of time
Didn’t bother recommending it for my nieces, as it was regularly reporting me as using the phone while driving. I always put my phone in my bag, behind the driver seat or in the boot. No chance at all of using it physically, and don’t use voice commands. After giving feedback privately to developers at the time, I was told it was only a minor issue, live with it.I figured the app was a minor nuisance that I didn’t want in my life after that.

Really annoying
I don’t touch my phone while driving-ever BUT I do use Waze and wear my Apple Watch which means all of my trips with my watch on or Waze on count as mobile phone use

Teaching phone usage is not. Trips where I’ve not touched my phone get high usage. Then there’s the trips where I’ve drive and not used my phone at all - but my passengers have (my teen kids who are using it to listen to music or playing Pokémon Go as they don’t have their own phones) should be able to be adjusted to accept speed, but not the phone usage.

Awesome free family safety app
Great way to coordinate with my family and find cheap fuel. Used to use a competitor but it was expensive and I heard they sold user data.
Was good, fell off a cliff at new year
On 31/12/2023, I was an excellent driver. High nineties.
On 1/1/2024, I suddenly became an okay driver. Low 70s.
Despite having a huge streak of excellent drives, I’ve never cracked 80 since. I get massively high scores each week in my weekly summary… so my actual driving hasn’t changed. Friends and family have noticed the same thing. What gives?
Reexamine the maths/calculation/programming.

Detecting Phone Use when Parked
The app is pretty good- it’s a bit fun competing with friends and completing challenges.
It is a bit annoying however, that it picks up a lot of phone use after I have parked and left the car. That, and it’s also annoying for anyone who might often be a passenger, as it often records passenger drives as driver, which if I used my phone while a passenger, makes my score drop drastically. Surely this is something that can be improved? If anything it’s worsened over time.

Phone usage
I agree the concept is good However it states that I am using my phone at times when I am not That means I do not touch it at all when I drive ie no interaction at all I do not hands free I do not answer phone at all by any means

Get a little bit stick of having to login when ever you upgrade the app.
Works well and has fun challenges
The app works well for an early version, there are still some improvements which I hope are provided such as the ability to edit multiple trips instead of just the last one.
Cannot enable location notification
This dues not let me scroll down to enable the location tracking so therefore I cannot start using the app

Confusing app
I like the concept of this app, however I have found that it registers me touching my phone when I actually don’t. I only ever use voice command to make calls whilst driving, I don’t touch my phone at all. I have also found that it registers a result when I am not even driving the car. So there are some things that need to be ironed out. Will still use but only when I manually ask it to track my trip.

Hi, thanks for your feedback and interest in RAC Go. Any interaction with your phone, either touching or voice commands are considered a distraction and will impact your score.
No help to a passenger
Although I find the challenges good and have had fun trying to complete them I find that whenever I’m a passenger I can only adjust the last trip recorded and it takes a while for the app to show trips so will often have multiple trips show in the app at once and it affect my progress towards challenges.
